I've never seen such a bad hotel, and the price is over 2,000, which is crazy. It's also self-check-in, and the bathroom is disgusting. My family didn't dare to take a shower and had to spend the night in their clothes. The crappy hotels on Highway 1 are so expensive! Everyone, avoid it!

My husband and I stayed two nights, while exploring The Redwoods. Anchor Beach Inn fit all of our needs. It's located within walking distance from the beach and a couple of restaurants.

I usually do not stay at motels, but my wife and I are driving the pacific west coast over ten days, so spending the night at a motel here and there is a more cost efficient option. We were both pleasantly surprised at how well kept and quiet Anchor Beach Inn turned out to be. The reviews on ******* were flattering, but still did not do it justice. The place is clean. The parking lot was not even half full when we arrived to our room for the evening. When I woke up,the next morning, the parking lot was full and we did not hear one person come in or leave their room. We wanted to be close to the redwood trails in the national park and the location was perfect for this. I highly recommend Anchor Beach Inn for a quick stay. Also, check in was handled with a live person on live video at a kiosk…..a first for me.

Pros's: Nice , clean , quiet and reasonably priced pet friendly hotel near the harbor and across street from the beach. Cons: bed was a little small , continental breakfast was nothing to write home about, and the virtual agent at the desk was a little weird.

Look, the place is clean and near the beach and national park. Laundry was functional. I can’t fault it for functioning as a place to sleep, but I don’t feel like it was fully worth the amount we paid. The “free breakfast” is just some Kirkland granola bars and apples. I would not count this as a provided breakfast. Secondly, the check in is through a kiosk. The man they employed to be the virtual clerk is very nice but, on principle, I don’t like that this motel has outsourced a job virtually like this. Someone who is working remotely cannot answer questions about things going on in the neighborhood (part of the road was blocked with police cars when we arrived) because they literally are not there. Housekeeping is only on Mondays and Thursdays. Lastly, the room smelled…off? Like a mix of musty and cleaning supplies. It didn’t smell dirty, but the scent definitely clung to my backpack long after we left. Overall, while this place filled our basic needs, I do not think it was worth $160 a night for a single king room

Beautiful area, next tot he beach and a short walk to the beach. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. In the shower it had a clothes line for any damp clothes. Very common sense room. Check in for me was late, 12 am, and we had a kiosk with a lady on it to check us in. I would stay there again!

Nice staff, clean room, nice clean beach a stones throw from our door. Do NOT stay at oceanfront lodge! That place is disgusting!

This hotel is a dystopian nightmare. The receptionist is a video feed of a person, not a human being from Crescent City. It feels like a bad sci-fi movie. Instead of a person from the community, you have to interact with a video feed of some person talking to you from who knows where and who knows what conditions — it is abominable. The worst hotel experience ever. The rooms are clean and large, but it’s a very creepy place.

Great location. Walk to beach. Very clean rooms and spacious. Standard amenities. Bed kinda stiff. Been better other places. Check in/ out by kiosk...prefer a person instead. Not as confusing. Breakfast is just to go snack packs...not a breakfast really. Disappointed in that idea.
