PAR Five Shacks

First, as others have written, the comfort of the bed is seriously noteworthy. So so good for an amazing night’s sleep! The linen ‘feel’ doesn’t quite reach the same level of coziness, but forgivable, as the weight and effectiveness of the doona was perfect - it was freezing in Berri yet we had no need for the heater on overnight. When the heater is needed though, it works very well, but is somewhat noisy.  The kitchenette is well equipped but champagne flutes would be a useful addition.  The main +++ is the space. It is an excellent size of room, and the decor helps. If it’s a bright, fresh and very spacious/open feeling and ‘look’ you want, you’ve got it with the Par Five Shacks.  We’d definitely stay again but there were two areas where we’d look for future improvement. The welcome and farewell at check-in and check-out at the desk didn’t stack up to the otherwise quality offering of Par Five and/or the general enthusiastic hospitality we felt in all other places in and around Berri that weekend. It was flat! At check-in there was NO information offered like checkout time or where to get breakfast or dinner (incidentally we had Earth booked anyway, and it was GREAT for dinner!). The only info verbalised was ‘so you know, everything in the room is included’ …. Now unless you want some dishwashing liquid, that ‘everything’ is really UHT milk, bottled water and a small container of chocolate nuts……so maybe we missed something more generous and noteworthy, like a bottle of local wine perhaps! A bit of a missed opportunity for some local winemakers who could showcase their wine through Par Five Shacks.

Great accommodation, very cozy. Bathroom facilities are excellent and modern. Bed was comfortable allowing for a great night sleep. Will return.

We were asked if we wanted room serviced every day for our 3 night stay. Unfortunately this did not occur until after the second day. Only two coffee pods for the machine , so no early morning coffee til restocked. Small thing , not precious, but just racing off to early tennis start and wanted a wake up brew. Everything else was fine -well done.
