We found Borgo San Gaetano by accident whilst looking for somewhere to have an a aperitivo before dinner in Bernalda. The Borgo is down a charming little lane decorated with overhang crocheted sun shades that connect its charming hotel rooms. We sat on wooden tables in the cul-de-sac and ordered our drinks which were accompanied by little dishes of dry salted fava typical of the region. As we sat the very friendly staff produced more and more little dishes until we decided to drop our dinner booking and order a bottle of wine and relax here. Dishes ranged from a plate of local cured sausage and soft cheese to bruschetta with local chicory and baked cheese, ending with two delicious biscuits from the local bakery. The staff couldn't have been kinder; I use a wheelchair and so they advised me on where to go in the region where accessibility is possible. It was a lovely evening.

Heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, heerlijk bed, leuk zitje buiten of in de tuin onder de bomen, lekker ontbijt en parkeren kan in een zijstraat bij de ingang via de tuin. Het centrum van Bernalda is vijf minuten lopen. Strand op een kwartiertje en leuke plaatsjes op 30-45 minuten. Kortom: aanrader.

Mooie, zeer ruime en verzorgde kamers met allen comfort en voorzieningen. Uitstekend ontbijt met alles op en aan. Vriendelijke en behulpzame ontvangst. Bernalda zelf is geen toeristische bestemming maar een rustige tussenstop voor het verkennen van regio Puglia en Basilicata

Nous avons passé 6 nuits au Borgo San Gaetano et nous avons énormément apprécié notre séjour ! L’hôtel est situé au centre de la petite ville de Bernalda à une petite distance à pied de plusieurs bons restaurants. De là il est possible de visiter Matera et tous les autres villages de Basilicata, la mer n’est pas loin et les musées archéologiques de Policoro ou de Tarento sont proches. L’hôtel est charmant, décoration sobre et élégante, les chambres sont extrêmement confortables. Le personnel est attentionné et polyglotte. Le petit déjeuner est excellent. En bref un petit bijou pour votre séjour dans cette région.
