What a wonderful place to stop for lunch or dinner on a trip. Pass all those fast food places on Exit #76 and go a very short distance to the Boone Tavern in the hotel. Parking next to restaurant is easy access to the restaurant. The menu is delightful and the prices are very reasonable. The service was very good provided by Berea College students. I had the Ruben sandwich and side salad. It was delicious.

Beautiful and historic hotel, but it is poor condition and really needs updating. The beds are not comfortable for starters, I would put in new mattresses and pillows. In the bathroom, there is a small sink with no countertop, so there is no place to set your toiletries save a tiny shelf. It would not be that hard to add extra shelving. The shower head was probably 25 years old and had little water pressure. The HVAC system is very old and doesn't work well, so even when our thermostat was set at 67, our room was hot. To top it off, we found a roach in our room. When we told the front desk staff about this, there was no apology. We would not stay here again.

Visited the Tavern based on a cookbook I found from the 60’s!!! Went for the old-school comfort food- Flaked Chicken in Birds Nest. My tastebuds had a flashback to 1961 when Mr Boughton was manager. My server Amy was thoughtful, quick to pick up on my interest in food and that I found the Tavern based on my hobby- cookbook collecting. There is a new menu launching soon- will have to try it when I return. Protip: spoon-bread dipped in the cranberry sauce was delectable.

The original room they assigned us was awful. The bed did not have enough support under it and was exceptionally uncomfortable. The room was dusty and carpeting needed a good shampooing. When I put the fan on, dust came flying off and the room became hard for me to breathe. This was room 222. I went downstairs to complain and was able to check out another room 333. It was like night and day. 333 smelled good, was immaculate, mattress was comfortable and I was so glad I switched. For those that do not like soft furniture, be warned. Sofas, chairs, etc is very very soft. For me that was an issue, my husband didn't mind. We had breakfast the next morning and found it to be delicious. My suggestion to the hotel is to put in a full-length mirror in the room.

My daughter & I had lunch at the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious & Amy, our server, was delightful. Very attentive & friendly. If you go to the restaurant, ask for Amy! You’ll be glad you did. The hotel is historic & so lovely. Please visit!

Such a sweet experience! From dining (thank you, Amy) to accommodations to small town atmosphere, we had a great time! The front desk staff were very helpful. The website urged us to book our reservations for dinner/breakfast so we did (I just now realized we forgot to use our voucher for breakfast haha) but we were the only patrons at breakfast. Overall it was very pleasant.
