Alpenresidenz Buchenhöhe ligt mooi centraal op de Obersalzberg, op een vijf autominuten van het documentatiecentrum en het Kehlsteinhaus. De rit naar Berchtesgaden is eenvoudig en duurt nog geen 10 minuten. Onze kamer de alpenresidenz was basic maar afdoende. Vloerbedekking is uiteraard niet meer van deze tijd maar goed. Het is wat gehorig maar de bedden zijn prima en de douche is warm. De receptie is tot 18:00 open en tot 21:00 bereikbaar. Da’s niet zo gastvrij. Het ontbijt was echt goed. Fijn uitgebreid en de dames die het verzorgen zijn vriendelijk en voorkomend. Achter de receptie was er weinig warmte. De fout in de boeking die ik maakte was ‘niet hun probleem’. Uiteindelijk werd het naar tevredenheid opgelost. Er werd nog wel benadrukt dat Buchenhöhe geen fout had gemaakt. Dat heb ik ook nooit gezegd, maar goed. Dank voor de oplossing in ieder geval.

Less good: We lived in house C. There were several stairs up to house C and inside the house, unfortunately there was no elevator.
Very good: The bathroom was newly renovated and fresh. The breakfast was great. In the house next door was a restaurant with good and plentiful food.

In a small village with one restaurant. This was clearly stated to us at check-in, but the place was fully booked when we went to ask for a table. A mountainous journey to the nearest small lake. Close to Kotkanpesä, so it was a good fit for our route. Breakfast scanty but sufficient.
