I found the inflexible table seating policy disappointing. It felt like being treated as if in a prison or school, where guests staying in more expensive rooms were given priority and I was asked to only sit at the assigned table. This overshadowed what could have been an amazing stay, as the food and service were satisfactory. However, the rigid adherence to policies really tarnished the overall impression of the hotel. A more empathetic approach from staff would greatly improve the overall experience for all guests.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Alpenhotel Fischer. The staff were lovely, speaking great English but being patient in letting me try speaking German too. Hotel facilities were great with breakfast being a highlight. Lots of choice and all very fresh. The room (117) was spacious and clean. The location is on the edge of Berchtesgaden and right next to a supermarket which was very handy. With that said, all I’d point out is that to get to Berchtesgaden centre, it’s around a 25 minute walk, with some uphill in either direction. This was no issue for us personally but would be an issue if you’re not into lots of walking. The buses stopped running around 8pm so we often got the bus into the centre for dinner but then walked back. This is not a criticism as it was nice to be out of the centre when we were ready to retire for the night, but merely something I wanted to point out for future guests. All in all, it was a fabulous stay and this hotel is one I would absolutely recommend to visitors of Berchtesgaden.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Alpenhotel Fischer. Outstanding features were the high standard of service, friendly and super helpful staff, and value of the half-board option (highly recommended-the food was excellent and plentiful). Rooms are large, very clean and well-appointed with a minibar and complimentary tea and coffee, as well as a separate sitting area. We had mountain and forest views. It was quiet at night and the variety of saunas plus pool in the wellness area made this stay a really wonderful break for some special family time. The “adults only” policy really helped the hotel’s calm ambience. Nearby attractions are a short car or free bus ride away so the location was ideal. Though in the high season these could be quite crowded, tips from the hotel staff helped us to avoid the crowds and make the most of our limited time. We would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again if we come back to Berchtesgaden.

Für ein 4*-Hotel war das gastronomische Angebot zu einseitig und wenig abwechslungsreich! Frühstück und Salatbufett waren täglich fast deckungsgleich! Nicht ein einziges Mal gab es Lachs oder Fisch zum Frühstück! Der Filter-Kaffee zum Frühstück war sehr dünn! Es wurde nicht kommuniziert, dass man auch Cappuccino etc. bestellen konnte! Ab dem 4. Tag wiederholten sich einzelne Komponenten des 5-Gang-Menues. Nach unserem Geschmack hatten einige Hauptgerichte kein 4*--Niveau, denn immerhin zahlten wir für die HP pro Tag und Person 158 €, d.h. täglich 316 €

Super tolles Frühstück, bei HP reicht auch abends eine halbe Portion beim Hauptgang. Das beste war der Buffet Abend. Beim Essen wurde jeder Wunsch von uns umgesetzt, auch spezielles wie Glutenfrei usw. möglich! Nachmittags konnte man, günstig, Kaffee und Kuchen im Hotel genießen. Pool und die Saunalandschaft lässt auch keine Wünsche offen. Personal sehr Nett und zuvor kommend. Zimmer sauber. Kurz gesagt, wir Buchen das Hotel für den nächsten Urlaub :)
