Hotels in Kannawa Onsen, Beppu

Everything is just perfect , from the arrival welcome drinks and the staff are nice. The Onsen is also beautiful. One thing is not good is the flashing on top of the ceiling is quite annoying for people who don’t like any light during sleep. If it can be improve, say can switch off during night time. Probably it’s a perfect hotel for family vacation!

The room with the onsen was convenient and offered a great experience. It was spacious enough for three adults with large suitcases, and the futon was very comfortable. Dinner was excellent as well. A wonderful place to stay! The staff was amazing, reaching out a week before our check-in to ask about our group and dinner preferences. We were so happy with our stay. The hotel is located next to the Tielun bus stop, which is only a 1-minute walk away. After visiting the 5 hells, you can take a bus to the Blood Pond Hell at the bus stop. The hotel is on a small hill, so you have to climb a small hill, which is not a big problem. The hotel is basically a series of independent cottages. We stayed in a room with a private bath this time. The hotel staff did not speak English well, so we basically communicated through a translator. There was free beer and drinks available 24 hours a day next to the front desk. The room was quite large, with a high ceiling and very comfortable. The private bath could adjust the temperature by itself. The dinner was sushi food taken out by the hotel, which was quite rich. The hotel does not provide breakfast, but you can get it at the 7-11 opposite. Overall, it is very cost-effective and you can give it a try.

We booked this, and the sister hotel under the same organization (步步庵） for my family and my parents. Both were super nice but we think this one is nicer. Comes with private onsen inside the room, with a proper mattress. Apartment style with modern design. We love this room so much. Would definitely come back! Comes with free parking.

Joy is a bit like a family hotel, the entire couch room. Each floor is a shared toilet, but it is very clean. There is a common brushing position for washing your face. I like their Japanese breakfast most, and it feels like living in a Japanese home. It is especially warm.

We were assigned to a room in the east wing on the 5th floor. When we got up to watch the sunrise, we could also see the sea. It was really great. The location was very convenient. There was a station next to it that went directly to Yufuin and Beppu stations. The service staff are also very nice. The hot springs here are very comfortable. There are rooftop ones with sea views and outdoor ones on the first floor. They are both great. It is recommended to go downstairs at night and get up in the morning to go to the rooftop to soak in the hot springs and watch the sunrise😜 The hotel is very close to the Sea Hell, Mud Hell, White Hell and Ghost Hell on foot... They are all next to each other, and it feels good to see smoke everywhere.

I think I booked 8 trillion tatami, but 6 trillion were provided. I stayed without going through the additional confirmation process because there were two people. It's very dangerous because the stairs are steep every time you go to the second floor. The meal is also served in a generous manner. There's plenty of hot spring time. But I don't think I clean every hour, and the abandoned band-aid was stuck on the stone. The heating was a little dry because it was a heater, but the bedding was warm. The bath is 250 yen per person.
