Great experience overall! Room - clean and large, very new. Service - guest experience agent in concierge is awesome! I really appreciate the service Ami provided. The restaurant recommendations/ books have been very smooth. English communication is also great! Hassin sushi (八新壽司） is a must go omakase sushi place while typpenyaki place recommended also provided excellent quality wagyu beef. We also tried western style breakfast recommended (莊園小町） Super nice too! Onsen - very new with splendid view. Just some business visitors from south east Asia who are not familiar with onsen rules were very noisy. Food - breakfast is quite nice - suggest trying it outside. Location - needs to driver around 10-20 mins to the restaurants in the city but overall all ok Free valet parking is good. Overall excellent experience!

The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly cared for throughout my stay. If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway with impeccable service and a true Japanese experience, I highly recommend Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan. It’s a place we would love to visit again. We left at 9 o'clock and returned at 12:30 to find that the room was not cleaned. We asked the waiter and he said that the room must be left before 12 o'clock before cleaning. I explained several times that I just came back and found that the room was not cleaned, so I came to ask you. What kind of logic is really speechless. There was an earthquake on the first night, and I contacted Ctrip to refund the room for the next day and return home. Ctrip did not contact me actively during the whole process. I kept staring and asking, and if they didn't ask, they would just wait for a reply.

We were assigned to a room in the east wing on the 5th floor. When we got up to watch the sunrise, we could also see the sea. It was really great. The location was very convenient. There was a station next to it that went directly to Yufuin and Beppu stations. The service staff are also very nice. The hot springs here are very comfortable. There are rooftop ones with sea views and outdoor ones on the first floor. They are both great. It is recommended to go downstairs at night and get up in the morning to go to the rooftop to soak in the hot springs and watch the sunrise😜 The hotel is very close to the Sea Hell, Mud Hell, White Hell and Ghost Hell on foot... They are all next to each other, and it feels good to see smoke everywhere.

We booked this, and the sister hotel under the same organization (步步庵） for my family and my parents. Both were super nice but we think this one is nicer. Comes with private onsen inside the room, with a proper mattress. Apartment style with modern design. We love this room so much. Would definitely come back! Comes with free parking.

Second hotel visited. The facilities are just a neat ryokan hotel that is a bit old. 1 small bath and 1 larger bath in another building (This is a place where not only guests but also outsiders come to take a bath, free for overnight guests) There is also an open-air bath. However, breakfast and dinner are buffet style, and there are many kinds of food and the quality is very, very good. So, I went back to the hotel for the buffet.

Joy is a bit like a family hotel, the entire couch room. Each floor is a shared toilet, but it is very clean. There is a common brushing position for washing your face. I like their Japanese breakfast most, and it feels like living in a Japanese home. It is especially warm.
