My first trip to Oita!
I wanted to stay at a hotel with a hot spring, so I made a reservation!
<Good points>
- Delicious breakfast!
(I chose the Western buffet, but the Japanese food looked good too! By the way, the Western buffet is empty if you go around 7:30! Be careful as it starts to get crowded after 8:00!)
- The hot spring has a sauna
- Clean
<Slightly disappointing points>
- The elevator is a little slow...?
(The elevator is crowded because there are a lot of people! But it's not that slow! I feel like I'll have to wait for a minute or two!)
<Concerns>
- Staff response
Everyone was very polite!
However, I was concerned about the female front desk staff's response at check-in...
When I checked in, there were two people at the front desk (me and an elderly customer).
When checking in, the staff member in charge of elderly customers carefully explained everything to the elderly customer. From the location of the amenities to the floor of the public bath, introduction to the breakfast, etc.
However, the staff member who looked after us only told us about the breakfast menu and that we would each take our own amenities.
Where is the restaurant? Where is the large communal bath? There were many things I didn't understand, but I was able to understand by listening to a staff member who was looking after another elderly guest.
I think that since we were relatively young, they thought we would understand without an explanation....? 💦.
There were beer discount coupons and other things in the room card holder that we were given when we checked in, but there was no explanation for them, which was a bit disappointing...
