The Residence Bentota

During our stay at The Residence Bentota, we were surrounded by attentive and caring staff who made our experience all the more enjoyable. Everything impressed us, from the friendly and helpful staff to our spacious two-story villa, the clean and well-maintained pool (which doesn't use chlorine), and the beautiful territory. The property is surrounded by palm trees, tropical trees, flowers, and a variety of unusual birds and animals such as chipmunks, peacocks, mongooses, and monitor lizards. The beach is conveniently located just a 7-minute walk away, although it's worth noting that you need to cross a railway bridge to get there. You can catch a tuk-tuk (right outside the hotel gates) and go to more remote places - we went to Moragalla beach, it’s cool - there you can relax, eat, and, if you wish, buy clothes)). Grocery stores, fruit stalls, cafes, and restaurants, everything is nearby, everything is accessible. In any case, the staff will advise you on the best places to buy something, where to go on an excursion, which beach to choose, etc., and will help resolve emerging issues. For example, our flight was canceled due to flooding in Dubai, and we needed to extend our villa at the last minute. So we stayed another extra day in our house calmly and finally went home rested and happy. We are thankful for the excellent service, and highly recommend The Residence Bentota to everyone!❤️.

We just needed a place to nap for a few hours before our flight and with the price being so reasonable we were happy to pay for a night here. We initially booked the twin room but we're also offered the 'apartment' when checking the twin there was no air con or working fan and in 30 degree heat we asked instead for the apartment. There was working air con which was great and the apartment is very basic. We're weren't given a towel or bedding but assume that's because we switched room last minute. We think there was a lizard in under the roofing due to noises it was making but didn't look like it could get in at all. We struggled to sleep due to all the sounds nearby. The grounds within the main residence and pool were beautiful, there are natural ponds and loads of well kept greenery which was lovely and I wish I could've enjoyed during the day. All in all if you're after a basic room, nice grounds and pool at a good price, I would definitely recommend.

A real paradise in the heart of the city. Close and accessible to both the sea and the city center / a very short walking distance. The complex consists of a number of beautifully maintained villas in a special rural atmosphere, green and flowery with very elaborate landscaping. It provides calm, peace, tranquility and utmost comfort. The swimming pool is dreamy. It is one of the nicest and most comfortable pools I have experienced in the area and in general, with a filter system with advanced technology of its kind and extremely clean. The villa with the large balcony overlooking the pool where I was on the first floor was amazing and well equipped. Excellent shower. Kitchen with everything you need and the bedroom was very comfortable. Cable TV. And the wf which was very strong. I was there for 23 days and I didn't want to leave. It was very clear to me to understand why there are a number of regular/veteran guests who come regularly and for long periods of time and give the place a special atmosphere of belonging and great care for the place with great respect for privacy. The most comfortable feeling possible and always with a big smile. It seems that the manager of the place chose his employees very carefully. The manager of the place, Mr. Iran, is an attentive, patient, dedicated, kind, and very pleasant person. and does everything to please the guest with all his wishes with great care and respect. Of course I will return to the place. I had a perfect vacation. Thank you for everything. And continue to be as you are great and amazing.
