Stayed for 4 nights. Four friends in two twin rooms. Location is absolutely perfect. Large supermarket, marina and beach at bottom end of the road, and bars/nightclub at the other end of the road ... with a kebab shop a stones throw from the hotel which was much appreciated. Two roads over (if you go up hill and turn left, then second left again) has a wonderful little Chinese restaurant (four of us ate until stuffed for €40), and a little square of bars including OHara's which we loved and visited every evening. There's then steps from that square to the beach front. Rooms have almost everything you could want. The only thing they lacked was a freezer. Clean on arrival. Beds comfortable but very very squeaky. Plenty of storage and plug sockets. Lights are rather dull though. Glasses provided are like egg cups - would recommend that you pack your own plastic tumblers. There was a little packet in the drawer with a tea towel, a sponge and a little sachet of washing up liquid. I've never ever stayed in a hotel that only cleans the rooms, replenishes loo roll, empties bins and changes towels only ONCE per 7 days. We'd almost used up our two small toilet roll allowance after two days, and asked for some more toilet rolls and fresh bath towels. From the reaction you'd have thought we asked to drop pants and take a dump on the reception desk!! But surely a towel change every second or third day is reasonable? Especially when there's no line or clothes maid to hang wet towels outside. Bathroom was clean but rather shabby. Toilet wobbled quite dramatically! Nice powerful shower though, even if the bathtub was chipped. We had a room that faced the road on first floor and traffic noise was quite loud. Its a busy road and cars like to beep so I'd recommend ear plugs. You can hear quite a bit of noise from the corridors too. With ear plugs I got a great sleep in the comfortable beds. Nice thick curtains and a nice balcony area with two chairs and a table which got sun in the afternoon. Pool area was lovely. I thought the €2 charge per day for a bed was an amazing idea. Stopped sunbed wars which is the bane of any holiday. The lovely lifeguard would put the beds wherever you want them, and they came with very comfortable mattresses. Pool/sunbed area was open 12-6pm when we were there. We'd get there around 1-2pm and there was plenty of space for our beds, and plenty of sun umbrellas. It did peeve me that you weren't allowed to take your own drinks and snacks to the sunbed area though. The bar staff came around with signs saying that only food and drink purchased from the bar could be consumed in the garden/pool area. When you're self catering and paid a lot of money to stay at the hotel, I do expect to be able to bring my own bag of crisps and drink to the pool area! That being said, the toasties were quite cheap €3ish and absolutely amazing. We only discovered them on our third day, but we would have bought a toastie every day had we realised how delici
