Estival Torrequebrada

Have just spent a week here. Staff friendly and helpful, food pretty reasonable and a good variety although with any AI/Half board etc there is an element of repetitiveness (we were half board). Rooms kept clean and well maintained. Grounds kept really well, with lovely views. Location is easy to get to main attractions. Just outside Belamadena. Family friendly without being overrun with children. We would definitely return! Would be better if- -Pillows were changed, they were very hard and uncomfortable -Odd system of having to wear a swimcap for the indoor pool (I get this is probably for hygiene, but the floor in the pool room wasn’t clean-I’d prioritise that over swim caps!) -Outside pools not heated at this time of year, which is probably the norm in February but a shame as if they’d been warm they’d have been usable in the lovely weather

we arrived at the estival Torrequebrada and checked in with no problems. Our room was very nice with lovely views, the hotel has a sewage smell occasionally which wasnt very nice. The food was good and the bar area are nice. Staff at the hotel are lovely very friendly. The pool areas are great but unfortunately the pools are freezing which is such a shame. The hotel allows smoking in all areas outside which isnt great for us non smokers maybe the hotel would be better with designated areas for smoking. we enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.

Still here! Arrived 3 days ago and still waiting for the sofa bed to be made up. Contacted reception and have spoken to housekeeping-all say today! 3 days in…not good enough room 0811. Not sure what else to do as it’s so embarrassing continuously going to reception

Arrived at hotel to a wonderful reception area. There were around 10 people before us checking in however still took an hour to get to our turn so beware a long wait. We were upgraded to a magnificent suite on the 3rd floor with amazing front see views. Room was massive with leather sofa, tv, patio doors, bed was ginormous and very comfy. We were happy at this point. The grounds were lovely and a well positioned hotel. Alot of children here and very noisy. Now the food? Well breakfast was ok i suppose, pretty standard you would find in most hotels. Not happy about the fried eggs being deep fried? Evening meal salad bar was ok, meats, cheeses etc. The problem was with the hot food area. Meats, main dishes, pasta, vegetables it was all either overcooked, tough, cold, uninspiring, deep fried or generally boring. I've been to many hotels in Spain, Greece, Egypt, Cape Verde and this was the worst. My partner never complains about anything but even she commented on it every night. We ate out a few times for a change. Apart from the evening meal the hotel is lovely. I would book B&B next time and eat out every night.

I was thinking before going to this hotel, why it has only 4 starts in Tripadvisor, being so nice and looking so good hotel from first glance. but seems I found a ROOT CAUSE for failures of this hote. Here goes the story. I investigated that this hotel was or was targeting only adults before (I found old photoes showing they had tennis courts instead of kids pool area, then they did some recunstruction and removed extra tennis courts placing kids or families pool area here), now they have kids/family area and adults only zone idea is ok. But implementation seems to be with many issues. And the issues are the preference to adults still is felt hardly, and there are many restrictions for kids, and they ruin the experience of hotel at the end. For example, kids cant go into Gym (they can only sit here ant stare , ahahah), kids cannot gi into sauna (not sure why, but anyway not possible to go here, our 11 years doughter tried to sit for 1 minute, and was immediately screamed on and let out of sauna), kids cannot play with ball in a pool (many remarks and shouts for personnel on these things we saw), hotel is with bad setup for kids, many rocky steps, etc. regarding AI. seems AI is the big scam here. best not to buy it at all. day snack at bar are miserable (2 or 3 options only, potatoes free for example), you can pay extra on evening to get AI if you on another board option, but its not worth as too expensive, you still wont be able to order drinks at the bar after dinner. Hotel has many rules, special card to gym to visit (despite it is free for all guests, why I need extra card to get here every time?) , tennis area is also free but for some reason I need to pay deposit of 20 eur to use the court? (why this deposit, will I damage the court after usage????) , so in summary hotel seems is struggling. AI is very cut off, (only few coctails in AI option, also the Coffee is only from automatic crapo mashine, awful taste , I saw how people were mixing with several cups several options fro coffeee machine, to get the taste of nice coffe they wanted), if you want coffee at the bar , from normal manual system, you have to pay, its not in AI. the beakfasts are all the same, and very small options to pick from, I got tired to eat everyday fried eggs. The good things, are, the rooms, they are big, spacious, and has even USB slot, for phone charging in a wall. sea view, is good only on Suits rooms, which are faced directy to sea, of the room is faced half way to sea and to road, you will get a lot of noise from road.

This was my second solo trip to this magnificent hotel. The staff are incredibly polite and friendly and I am very grateful to them for such wonderful and welcoming hospitality. Just by a coincidence I was here last year on their opening day and this year on their last closing day for Winter. The food is really varied and high quality. Everything is made from scratch with authentic ingredients and you can taste this for sure. There is something to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. The rooms are immaculate and with constant hot water for the showers. Kettle in room for tea etc and little fridge for your cava bottle or suncream. The views are spectacular also. Really nice sized balcony with great views. I cannot find anything negative to say about this hotel. WiFi speed also good and good range of international TV stations on the TV in the room. Last year my sister who was living in a separate apartment joined me for dinner one night and it's not problem to just pay a bit extra for this in the dining room and this year she will also do the same tonight which is my last night here. I really hope to come back again next year. Also great bus links right outside to Malaga or Torremolenos one way or Fuengirola the other way. Don't hesitate to book this wonderful hotel.
