The main building was pretty good. Compared to the main building, the rooms besides the courtyard where we lived in were rather basic. Everything was good enough apart from the heating system and toilet. The floor and toilet were pretty freezing. Fortunately, the lady in the reception brought us a small heater. It did help. Also, the flush of the toilet couldn't work properly.

Beautiful old building and gardens but unfortunately it’s not well maintained. The older rooms are good sizes but tatty, we had cobwebs and dust in the bathroom plus mildew on bedroom and bathroom windows. However the linen was lovely quality and it wąs quiet and warm for an older building. We won’t be returning.

The room is spacious. There is one bedroom and one living room on the second floor. There is a sofa bed in the living room and a large bed in the room. It is comfortable. The waiters are very friendly. The breakfast is rich. There is a sauna room. The slight drawback is that the door lock is a bit difficult to open.

Ten of us and two 'little ones' had a fantastic bubbly afternoon tea here on a recent Sunday. This was to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with the family. The tea and service were excellent and afterwards we enjoyed drinks in the lovely Drawing Room. The weather on the day was not good, however we did manage to walk around the lovely gardens later in the afternoon. Thank you for making our day special. We will be returning!

We arrived at Makeney Hall to be greeted with a warm & friendly reception. We had the indulgent Afternoon Tea & the soup was delicious as were the sausage rolls. The sandwiches were lovely, fresh & tasty. The scones were still warm, buttery & scrumptious & the chocolate brownies were super rich, chocolatey & indulgent. That lemon posset though - just wow! Absolutely devine! We'll definitely be back!
