Protea Hotel Cape Town Durbanville

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Protea Hotel Durbanville, and I can't express enough how wonderful our experience was, thanks to General Manager Shericka and her exceptional team. From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed and valued. Shericka's attention to detail and genuine care for her guests truly stood out. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, ensuring that every aspect of our weekend was memorable. The restaurant team was particularly fantastic, serving us with warmth and enthusiasm that added a personal touch to our dining experience. We felt seen and celebrated throughout our stay, which made our anniversary even more special. Thank you, Shericka and the entire team, for creating such a magical experience for us. Weekend getaway ,there food was nice ,everyday specials on there menus Very affordable,friendly staff and love there pizza special on Friday night drinks aswell buy 1 get 1 free ,there rooms were very nice and clean and comfortable, definitely will come back

I feel the room size is great. The service at reception as perfect. In terms of the bathroom, it let the experience down. The room and bathroom size is good, but the size of the shower in comparison is disappointing. The shower head is sticking out far from the wall, and the 45 degree angle of the bathroom adds almost no design feature from the room but sadly makes that bathroom layout terrible. it was a challenge showering in such a small shower. The channels on the TV was not calibrated, some channels didnt have sound. I also feel the layout of the breakfast room was disjointed and the different offerings could have been grouped together better. Overall I will stay there again, but feel more attention to detail will elevate the experience

Review for Hotel My wife and I, along with our son and now wife stayed for 9 nights at the Protea at Durbanville during our stay in Cape Town. Our son got married not far from the hotel. Our daughter in law is the only South African in the group, and we have never traveled outside of the United States. If we could describe one thing that made our stay at this hotel perfect, it would be the staff. We have never been to a hotel that had such friendly staff that Protea at Durbanville had during our stay. From the front desk workers, restaurant staff, to the housekeeping crews, they were all super accommodating and made us feel so welcome. The staff was also super involved in our stay, cheering us on as the wedding day approached and congratulated us on the day. One staff member that really made a difference for us was Vincent. Vincent really took the time to get to know us and we really appreciated his hospitality. The porter was all extremely friendly and helpful. The entire staff and I wouldn’t want to leave anyone out so will not name names. We highly recommend this hotel.

I was asking for a silent room and they placed me in a room amongst families with children having some family celebration, everyone shouting in the middle of the night, and staff not doing anything about it. Children screaming and crying from 05:00 in the morning. There was a terrible smell in my bathroom and I mentioned it every day. The first 2 days they tried to fix it and when they failed to fix it, they suddenly said that there was no bad smell… I do NOT recommend and I shall not go that hotel again, they are not living up to what is expected from a Mariott hotel
