I always wanted to stay at Holiday Park, and I finally stayed there on the way from Brisbane to Cairns. This BIG4 is right by the beach, close to the city, and convenient for shopping nearby. When I checked in, I didn't know the rules of the stay, but it was actually very convenient. I just needed to get the key from the designated box, find my cabin and open the door. The room facilities were very complete, the bed was very clean, and when I left, I just had to return the key to the designated box and I could leave. It was also a very interesting way to check in.

There was food left over in the freezer that appeared to have been in there for a very long time. It looks like it might have been chicken a very long time ago but was now white and partially frozen over by the freezer that was in major need of a defrost. The bed was like sleeping on concrete. the cutting board had left over food on one side

We stayed in B03 and unfortunately the cabin hadn’t been cleaned to an appropriate standard. It was missing a fourth fork, the cupboard floor was dirty, the kitchen shelving had bread crumbs scattered at the back of it and the chairs inside hadn’t been wiped down. When we arrived, there were two minute noodles and rubbish at the door step. The fire alarm went off twice through the night for no obvious reason and the air conditioning unit was making noises that made it hard to sleep. The pool and scenery across the road made up for some of the lacklustre of the unit.
