We stayed for a long weekend in January 2022, to celebrate my husbands birthday. We are returning customers and use this establishment whenever we are up in Northumberland for a holiday. All of the rooms are very tastefully decorated, with lovely beds and furnishings, good attention to detail with all of the little extras provided too. We normally book to stay in Coquet as we love the views from the window across the fields behind. They do amazing tasty breakfasts, generous portions and cooked fresh to order and care taken around the presentations of each dish, served hot when it arrives at your table. They offer a very varied menu choice as well, so there will be something to suit everyone. The owners, Claire & Simon are so knowledgeable regarding Belford, the surrounding areas and suggest excellent places to see and visit whilst you are there, including great places to eat in the evening. They are such a friendly couple who make you welcome from the moment you walk in the door and nothing is too much trouble for them. Belford is a small village, very quite and pretty, with local shops nearby and it is in a good location for driving to the nearby towns on Bamburgh, Alnwick, Holy Island (tide permitting), Berwick on Tweed, Craster, etc. but to name a few. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast if you are planning a visit to Northumberland as we will be going back soon. Thanks so much for making our stay an enjoyable and unforgettable one. We will be back to visit soon.

Just wanted to say what a lovely B and B the Post Office House in Belford is. Claire and Simon certainly show attention to detail. From the warm welcome to the beautiful rooms. The breakfast is amazing with real quality ingredients using local companies and homemade jams, delicious. The menus have a couple of different things on every day if you don't want a full breakfast. My husband was delighted to see Craster kippers on the menu one day. They have a lovely garden with great views and seating to relax in. The coast bus stops nearby so great for doing linear walks up and down the coast. The Black Swan has great beer and has a lovely local feel about it. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again when we come to Northumberland. Thanks again Claire and Simon. You are doing a great job and wishing you continued success with your lovely b and b. Janet and Dean

Firstly, we would like to mention the very warm welcome we received from Claire and Simon. That first impression stayed with us for the remainder of our 3 night stay. Our room, which was a twin, was spacious, beautifully and tastefully fitted out and many helpful items in there were a joy to discover! The beds were so comfortable, and bedding top quality. Breakfasts cooked by Simon and served by Claire were a sheer culinary delight, and I can thoroughly recommend the cheesy scrambled egg in a warm croissant. Look out for the delightful little garnish touches! Both Claire and Simon were so knowledgeable about the area they live in, so were able to point us in the right direction of places to visit and also the best places to eat. We wish we had been able to spend longer at the Post Office House B&B, but then we know that we can return again in the future! Both myself and husband would like to say a huge thank you to Claire and Simon for making our stay so enjoyable.

We recently spent a few days at the Post Office House and these are our thoughts. 1) Belford is an excellent base for exploring Northumberland. Most of where you will wish to visit is within a relatively short drive. 2) There are buses to Berwick and Alnwick from right outside the door to support a couple of car free days if you wish. 3) One guest can reserve off street car parking but there are no issues with on street parking and vehicles seem very safe. 4) Simon and Claire run a superb establishment and there are lots of special touches which make it stand out from the crowd. 5) Rooms are very comfortable and much thought has gone into their design and the fixtures and fittings are really nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept really well. 6) Breakfast was a delight and the quality of ingredients used really shines through. It is cooked to perfection by Simon and served with a wonderful smile by Claire. We particularly enjoyed our chats after breakfast and they made for a wonderful start to the day. 7) Simon and Claire are a font of all local knowledge and able to advise on places for your evening meals. We had some excellent recommendations and everywhere we ate was of a high standard. In this day and age, it must be difficult to operate a bed and breakfast and turn any sort of profit margin so if you are intending on visiting Northumberland, please give this establishment your serious consideration. You will not be disappointed with your choice and Simon and Claire are thoroughly deserving of your patronage. To quote a famous actor – ‘We’ll be back!’

What an absolutely wonderful B&B, we could not have asked or hoped for more. The room was perfect, comfortable and homely with every amenity we could possibly need. Everywhere was clean and spotless with wonderful reminders of the properties past life. The breakfasts, and selection of, was five star, the black pudding being particularly excellent. Claire and Simon could not have been anymore welcoming and friendly and their advice, recommendations and local knowledge really helped us get the most out of our stay. A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful part of the country and an ideal location to visit Bamburgh and the Holy Isle. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at the Post Office, Claire and Simon were very kind and welcoming. Our room was extremely clean and tidy, and we had a nice view to the fields behind the B&B. We really enjoyed talking and sharing experiences with them, and got some precious travel tips. The B&B is very well located, there's a PUB nearby, and it's just less than an hour drive to the Holy Island, Berwick Upon Tweed, and even closer to Bamburg. We really hope to come back soon!

Post office House has to be one of the nicest guest houses we have ever stayed in. From the exquisite furnishings to the outstanding breakfast, nothing could be described as just ok. Every need was catered for, from the usual tea and coffee, biscuits, hairdryer, etc but our hosts went the extra mile. Providing dressing gowns, extra pillows, ear plugs, face flannels, make up flannel, good quality toiletries and much more. We would certainly recommend Post office House if you like to be pampered whilst on holiday.
