Overall a very nice hotel but Breakfast service was not on par with expectations
Located in the heart of Beirut and just 12km from the Airport, the Sofitel Beirut Le Gabriel is an ideal luxury venue for business or leisure. This boutique hotel features a unique blend of French art de vivre and Lebanese hospitality. It is an elegant, cozy address to relax after a busy day in Lebanon's vibrant capital. Plunge into our heated indoor swimming pool, work out in our fitness center, and indulge yourself with our gourmet French and Lebanese cuisine.

This definitely is not a 5-star hotel, and well below the standards one would expect of a luxury hotel. The hotel is in need of refurbishment - the lifts are tiny (and shudder), and the rooms - whilst reasonably sized - are worn, with stains on the carpet and the upholstery. The bathrooms are small and poky, with dated fixtures. About the only thing that made it upscale were the Lanvin toiletries. There's not even a coffee machine in the room - only instant coffee is available. During the four nights I stayed, I was offered a turndown service only once (the other 3 nights I was out, so I don't know why they didn't just come in and do the turndown?). So the rooms are very much of a low grade. The pool and gym are in the basement. The gym is small, with very dated machines - neither the treadmill nor the elliptical machine worked at all. The cleaning staff were friendly. I never saw the front desk staff except upon arrival and departure, as they are hidden by a big pillar and work behind a plastic screen - it's not friendly or inviting. The security guard was mostly hunched over his mobile phone. So you feel quite ignored as you come and go. The location, however, is great - so close to lots of lovely bars and restaurants, and in a really lovely part of town. All in all, a disappointing Sofitel experience - far more in line with staying in a Ibis. Very expensive for what I got. I wouldn't stay again. And as for all of the other 5 star reviews...you will note that they're all by one- or two-time contributors, so I really question the authenticity. When you find a reviewer who has more than two reviews to their name, you'll see they also gave the Sofitel a low grade.

The Caramel is well-situated, in a quiet street just of the bustling Hamrq street, one of the most vibrant areas in Beirut. It is an older hotel, and would certainly benefit from a general renovation. But the hotel has an informal, quirky character, which may justify the ”Boutique” description in its title. My bed was comfortable and the room had adequate furnishings and bathroom facilities. I did not use the restaurant. Front desk staff were helpful. This is an inexpensive option in a good neighborhood. I would stay again.

Terrible experience. I made the same booking by mistake for a day from 2 different bookings pages. Even if my bookings were showing in their system as same booking, same person, same hotel, staff refused to help me. They asked me to contact *********** because they can’t do anything about it. After i was in touch with *********** i was told that hotel is the only one who can help me change the stay(i didn’t ask for refund i asked for change of dates!!!!!!). Staff extremly useless, it was very difficult for me to even have a conversation with them because i went trough a surgery a day before and i was there to recover. After 2 days of me trying to talk and explain my situation they told me there’s nothing they can do about it even if my reservation appeared in their system booked twice !!!!! They refused. The duty manager Mazen was even super rude and laughed in my face telling me it’s not his duty of solving such issues. I decided to check out and booked another hotel because there was no point to extend in a hotel that my money was stolen. At check out they told me it s okay i can extend another day for free. I m just speechless of such customer service, after having to go through many arguments with 3 of the staff and to be told it s nothing they can help with. I came there to recover after a surgery not to have useless arguments with the reception staff! Terrible experience. Terrible managment. They could have helped me from day one, they didn t want!!!! I definetly don’t recommend just because the rudeness of the staff. Rooms are ok but they smell very bad. If you’re non smoker you will feel it.

We spent here two nights. You can easily notice that once it had been a great hotel. Now some furniture is a little bit worn out and the glory has faded. Still, I believe it is a nice place to stay as it is situated in lively Hamra district, close to the city centre. The prices are good, I think you cannot really expect a super modern hotel in this location for 30 dollars, just be realistic. We had here breakfast - all tasty, friendly staff members but to be fair there was rather narrow choice of food. Probably it is wiser to go for breakfast somewhere else.

It's okay, it's very close to the downtown area, and it's quite convenient to travel. Breakfast is also good, but it's recommended to add some other hot food, such as fried rice, fried noodles, etc.

I chose this hotel as a Diamond member of Wyndham for my very first trip to Beirut, and I must admit it was the perfect decision. The staff truly know how to look after their guests. Thanks to Stephanie from the reservation team, I was upgraded to a junior suite with a spectacular view of the Beirut Corniche. The room service and housekeeping teams attended to my every request with genuine care and enthusiasm. The breakfast was superb, with a special mention for the Lebanese omelet. I only wish I could have stayed a bit longer.

*Expect the worse experience of your life and to be in shock at this experience* Disgusting experience and a very stressful stay. You are not allowed to use any of the facilities in this hotel, so I am unsure what you are paying for. They take advantage of guests and treat them like they are stupid and slow. The staff are the most abusive people I have ever met. You have to apologize for being there. They will treat garbage better than you. The staff give you dirty looks. Everything you touch is broken which adds a lot of stress to your stay. Unless you want to be ripped off don't go there. You have been warned. We will never go again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Outstanding
Situated in the heart of Gemmayze, just a stone's throw from Mkhail, Beit Toureef offers travelers an authentic taste of Beirut. The staff's hospitality is commendable, with Sassine's heartfelt welcome and Youmna's consistent assistance making a notable difference. They go the extra mile, keen to provide guidance on exploring Lebanon to enhance your visit. The rooms promise comfort, and mornings are made special with a delightful Lebanese breakfast on the rooftop. For those seeking an immersive Beirut stay, Beit Toureef is a top recommendation!
After days of searching for good value stay in Beirut I found this hotel to be the best option available and I was not in any way disappointed Shortly after my short notice booking I was reached out to on WhatsApp to confirm my plans and an offer to help get there from the airport. Not knowing the local “ways” but having a rough idea of the cost I agreed to their good value transfer and was met upon arrival with a sign with my name. Upon check in I was greeted by Bchara who was very polite and efficient, offered me a free drink while I was waiting and then I was again pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room - very spacious and amazing view. I rarely say it these days but my expectations have been wildly exceeded
GGuest UserReally happy with my stay at Smallville. Great service from all staff at all times. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. Love the touchscreen facilities inside the room & great amount of lighting. Balcony is a great size (it does get a bit dusty from the wind) with amazing city views. Breakfast is average but they serve non dairy milk so I was happy!! Wifi is good when connected but does disconnect daily. Would definitely stay here again!!
GGuest UserIt was a great stay. Overall experience perfect. Cleanliness and friendliness and service just great . I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is traveling to lebanon especially if he is going to be in achrafiyeh. Out experience with Citea was just great . We both want to thank them for everything .
GGuest UserRude and unwelcoming staff and generally not experienced professionals in the hospitality business. The main focus for them is the bar and the restaurant. I suggest you to focus on that because hosting guests is an art and serious business. From the moment we arrived we felt unwelcome. No explanation besides “breakfast starts at 8.30” - “oh but we leave at 8” … silence. “Here is the key to your room” full stop, nothing else. No offerings to help us bringing the luggage upstairs - nothing ! We had to figure out ourself where the hair dryer was, which was weirdly not in the room but in the common hall ( why would you not invest in 5 hairdryer so that each guest have its own ? What if we decided to shower all at once ? ) Same goes for the kettle .. The room: the design is nice though in any western country the bathroom will be considered illegal but fine.. no privacy if you are traveling with a companion. Pillows… guys ( owners / managers ) have you slept in your rooms ? Because if you did, you would know that nobody would sleep comfortably on those pillows. The noise: probably the noisiest room I ever set foot in. It is impossible to sleep and it is not only of its location but also because of the poor quality windows. I went to bed at 12 am and managed to fall asleep at 5 am out of exhaustion, only to wake up 2 hrs later. The sounds of motorcycles, honking, car big and small, people laughing, screaming or simply talking, will accompany you for the entire night. Again, when asked for assistance, they simply said “ hotel is full” no apologies or Whatsoever. The staff itself will stand outside the building careless that there are sleeping guests upstairs. Again, clearly you have never slept in your rooms because if you did, you would pay your guests to sleep there and not the other way round. Skip the hospitality business and leave it to the real professionals who truly know how to host.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a quirky area with many restaurants and near the beach promenade near the American University. It has 19 floors. Need to take a room with sea view !! - I had one in the 18th. Stock and was excited by the view of Beirut and the sea. The room has a small balcony and otherwise everything you need. It was clean and large enough to feel well. Breakfast is available in the restaurants on the street.
FFADY BARAKATBasic facilities.
Room is deluxe but old and needs to reflect more brightness and cleanliness.
Compared to the international level, the hotel needs to step up on the cleanliness and quality control.
The support was good and the efforts were appreciated but the hotel management needs to invest more to meet up with the international equivalent rate per night.
Noting that the conditions of the country are currently defying and keeping up with the basic services is nearly impossible, and the hotel managed to provide the basics from water/hot water, electricity and A/C almost 24/7.
Can order outside delivery to the room.
Suitable for competitive rates, and customers intending to spend time outdoors as for travelers, young tourists, and regional customers.
GGuest UserThis hotel is one of the best in Beirut. The location is amazing. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were comfy and spacious. I stayed on it for the first time three years ago, and since then, I have stayed there every time I visit Beirut.
AAnonymous UserI had a comfortable stay for the price
It was in front of the school, so it was convenient because there were many shopping and food options.
There are many cafes and you can see the sea within a short walk, so the location is very good.
It seems good.
What was disappointing was that I had to pay for parking even though I stayed.
