Beijing Hotel

The hotel is close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. However, due to its proximity, there are various restrictions, such as balconies being unusable and limited transportation options. Despite these inconveniences, I deeply felt the solemnity of the capital. The service was quite average; the front desk staff spoke softly, and their Beijing accent was difficult to understand. During conversations, a restrained impatience was often noticeable. The hotel itself has a very old-fashioned feel, which could be considered a unique characteristic.

I'll only mention the negatives. The balcony outside was incredibly dirty. Underneath the large bed, there was some kind of shredded fabric that was falling apart, and the facilities were simply substandard. The room also had terrible soundproofing. Around 10 PM, a child in the next room cried for almost two hours, making it impossible to sleep. I reported it to the front desk and asked them to handle it, but to my surprise, they called me back in the middle of the night to follow up, disturbing my sleep. This severely impacted my little one's sleep. Big thumbs down.

The rooms were clean and tidy, the lobby was grand and elegant, and the hotel staff provided excellent service with a smile always visible. The hotel's location was also impeccable, making getting around incredibly convenient.

The hotel's location is unbeatable; you can walk to Tiananmen Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony, and then stroll back to catch up on sleep. A special thank you to Wen Zhen at the front desk for her warm and thoughtful service, and for kindly helping us with a late check-out.

An iconic landmark of the Republic, a totem of an era, steeped in history. The location is superb, grand and magnificent. The service is excellent, and the breakfast is plentiful. The facilities, however, are a bit dated.

This is a century-old hotel, rich in history. Its location is the biggest highlight, right by Chang'an Avenue and Wangfujing Commercial Street, offering convenient transportation and a bustling atmosphere. Although the hotel facilities are old, they are well-maintained, especially the eight elevators which are surprisingly fast. The swimming pool is clean and suitable for all ages. The Chinese restaurant is luxurious with excellent service. The breakfast restaurant is grand with a wide variety of dishes. A pleasant surprise was the dedicated express and takeaway hut in the hotel lobby, which is very convenient for guests picking up deliveries. I will definitely come back again!

Although the room is a bit dated, it's very clean. The connecting room was perfect for our family of five, as the two rooms could be closed off by two doors.

The hotel boasts an excellent location right on Chang'an Avenue, with a subway entrance nearby, making it incredibly convenient for visiting Tiananmen Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony, exploring Tiananmen Tower, and the Forbidden City. The hotel has a rich history, with the pillars in Block C being magnificent and gilded. The staff are proactive, responsible, enthusiastic, and efficient, providing excellent service. My overall travel experience was fantastic. I wholeheartedly recommend it; you won't regret your stay.

The worst experience during my trip to Beijing. It felt like a dilapidated imperial palace, only its reputation remains. The male front desk staff still had the attitude of a state-run restaurant. The room facilities were old, and there were small bugs in the bathroom. There were no power outlets by the bed. I booked a room on the 16th floor, and despite paying the same price, I was given a room at the back, which offered a view of nothing but rows of exhaust pipes.
