Hotel Gasthof Zur Krone

Booked for two nights based on the advertised wellness facilities, which were a major selling point — but they were completely non-functional and clearly haven’t been in use for years. Extremely disappointing and misleading. The hotel itself is shabby and outdated. Room 1 was clean but smelled musty and looked out onto a dirty balcony and a steep hill. Food options were very limited, especially for vegetarians — mostly schnitzel and meat dishes. Breakfast was basic and unappealing. For the price, we expected far better. Would Misleading Wellness Claims and Poor Value for Money We booked this hotel for a two-night stay, largely attracted by the advertised wellness facilities. Sadly, these were not just unavailable — they appeared derelict and unused for decades. This was a key selling point for us and we felt misled. The hotel itself is dated and shabby. Our room (Room 1) was clean but smelled musty, with a dismal view of a neglected balcony and a steep slope beyond. Not exactly relaxing. Dining was another disappointment. The menu offered very little for vegetarians, focusing almost entirely on meat dishes. Breakfast was limited and uninspired. Given the premium rate, the experience was well below expectations. We would not go there again.
