Great location, great staff, fabulous short stay. Stayed in No6 room which had a great view of the sea. Other rooms may have better view. Very clean bedroom and the staff were super helpful. My wife and I will be back.

What a great experience from the moment stepping in the pub. Very welcoming on arrival friendly staff. There was 14 of us for a sit down meal service was top notch and the food was superb. Food arrived all together and nothing was to much trouble. We will be returning.

I wrote a review about a very disappointing meal here. I received a rather unpleasant personal reply from someone called Laura F. She has looked at my profile and was critical of me for leaving negative reviews! How petty of her. Be aware if your review is less than wonderful, this pub will respond in a rather insulting manner, but not publicly.

Very disappointing overnight stay—one of the worst I have experienced whilst walking the SWCP. Not made to feel welcome on check-in. Very mean tea and biscuit offering and no water provided in the room. Rooms very dated and need refurbishment. Breakfast was almost inedible—undercooked greasy bacon and no freshly brewed coffee. Certainly not worth the £140 B&B price.

A wonderful lunch in the sunshine overlooking beer beach. Celebrated my husbands birthday on 21st June. Able to sit outside in the garden. As a big group of 10 we arrived around 12pm we were able to get two tables close together. Bar service for drinks excellent and excellent service when placing orders for food. Cara was very helpful and checked back each order and side options. All meals came out together served hot and the specials duo of beef was outstanding as was the pea and mint risotto with added chicken. No complaints and a good day was had by all… we will visit again over the summer and are regular visitors to the anchor inn.

Really comfortable room and very quiet. Staff were professional and friendly and made our stay really enjoyable, thanks in particular to Megan who was so accommodating. We had meals both nights that we stayed, although small menu, specials changed daily and I would rather have a small menu cooked well than a large menu which is poorly executed. Breakfast was good quality and included in the price of the room. Well positioned for coastal walks and thanks to the owner Ann who dropped us off and picked us up at the Quay to complete more of the coastal walk. So impressed we will be booking again next year. Only downside was WiFi was a bit patchy in our room.

We had dinner last night! We were delighted to find vegan options on the menu! The vegan pie was exceptional! My husband really enjoyed the vegan curry! The young lady who served us was very attentive! We will definitely visit again! Thank you for providing lovely vegan food!!

This is a classy pub/hotel which overlooks both the beach and fishing boats at Beer. Excellent staff helped us, lovely lunch menu, which really added to our day. A very laid back meal in an equally laid back hotel, great beers, and wine, with just right meals.
