Pilgrims Progress Wetherspoon

Opening hours say open til 12am, bar staff think its 11.45 and door staff telling people they can't get another drink at 11.25. What an utter shambles 🤣 Turning customers away on a busy bank holiday weekend. Guessing the 'manager' is not great at communication!!

Huge pub with a good range of beer. The Wetherspoons app is excellent and our pints were swiftly brought to us by cheerful staff. Beer is good and a lot cheaper than what we are used to in London. The pub is almost out of place in town that has some decent areas but is best described overall as a rough town.

This is a great Wetherspoons to visit for us as we visit quite a lot. It is well worth visiting. It is always popular and quite often busy. We have always been lucky enough to find a table. The food is great & good value for money. So are the drinks. It is very handy to be able to order most things through the app. There is a downside though. I love the Quorn Wraps I have all the time. But unfortunately I have to go tell the kitchen no Salsa on my wrap as there is no way of putting that through on the app. Which is a shame. Must go to the kitchen immediately you order so as not to get the Salsa. Sorry but not everyone likes hot spicy Salsa.

The staff are really lovely, the food is ok but good value. Great value drinks. The pub does attract some interesting personalities though! Although I'm not a great chain fan, spoons delivers as its says on the tin, and this one is nicer than some I've come across lol.

We stayed at the hotel. Wasn't sure by the location since we thought it could be noisy for staying here next to a busy road. Needn't have worried since rooms are on high floor and could have heard a pin drop in the room it was so quiet. Also huge room, very clean and very comfortable. Staff could not have been more helpful. Pub is also perfect with plenty of tables, friendly staff and the garden is wonderful in the sun. Would love to stay here again and also to try other Wetherspoons hotels.

Elisabeth (receptionist) is a massive credit to the staff of this facility. Very easy but informing check in process. Many thanks for your help on my stay. Will return in due course. Rooms are spot on, breakfast served downstairs was a beauty.
