We've stayed a few times and really enjoyed it - lovely quirky vibes and great outdoor space. Also the location is great on one of Bedford's most beautiful avenues. This time might be the last time we stay for a while though. I agree with one of the previous reviews that suggested a deep clean and I'd go a step further and say it's time for a refurb. And this time we were in the coach house which is basically a separate block in the car park. It's definitely to be avoided - you look out onto the staff smoking/break area which can be noisy especially in the morning. Then you also have the bin men arriving when you thought the 11a.m. checkout means a leisurely start. Staff were fairly absent - I had to search for someone to check out and waited quite a long time to check in. Apart from this occasion I have loved staying here but there are now other options in town that are better value for money and a whole lot cleaner. Such a shame.

The staff here really look after you, it's very friendly and informal but efficient. Appealing shabby chic decor, eclectic. Perfect location. Beautiful gardens, good food. I'm not sure if I'd stay again though as there were some downsides for me. I had the accessible room but it isn't really accessible, yes it has a walk in shower but there are no grab rails and only a an overhead rain shower. The twin beds are high and with soft edge mattresses which make it tricky to get in and stay in! I worried I'd roll out if I got to close to the edge. ;). There was another downstairs room and maybe that would suit me more. The floorboards are tricky on bare feet, take slippers That said I would definitely recommend staying here for others

Awesome value, gorgeous rooms, superb food and genuinely lovely staff in this well run hotel. An absolute jewel of a place just a short stroll from Bedford park and the town centre. If you like the Old Bridge at Huntingdon you will love it here. Top marks all round

Food was amazing, staff were friendly, room was comfortable and luxurious. Absolutley perfect.
