We arrived after a long, exhausting day on our motorcycle to check-in to a lobby full of people waiting. Roxanne checked us in & broke the news to us that our room was not ready & it would be at least an hour until it was…she was very calm & professional in her explanation & she was extremely apologetic for the inconvenience. She made it right with us! A huge thank you Roxanne! Our room was ready earlier than anticipated- it was clean, the breakfast was really good, the other staff was very friendly, & it was an overall great experience!

Absolutely overpriced dump! Where to begin...at check in, which was excruciatingly slow, at 4PM they had to check to see if the room was ready! Staff across the board observed either sitting around, or nowhere to be found. Room was dirty and beat up. Dirt marks on walls and doors, chipped paint on doors and furniture. Room doors not adjusted properly so they slam shut with a 'bang'. Hotel TERRIBLY managed! Thin walls where you hear other guests. Try the nearby Hampton Inn or Comfort Inn. HAS to be better than this! Worst IHG I have stayed in and I'm 'Platinum Elite'. Very disappointing stay.

Autumn and Roxanne were phenomenal. First, we had a mix-up in our reservations and arrived 2 days early for our stay in Beckley WV. Roxanne and Autumn helped us cancel our previous location and extend our stay in Beckley to fix this error. The next day, Tropical Storm (previously a Category 4 deadly hurricane) Helene caused power, internet and phone outages in the area. Roxanne and another desk employee (sorry did not get her name) helped us cancel our extended days in Beckley. I was disappointed that we could not stay there at the Holiday Inn. The hotel is newly renovated and truly a wonderful place to stay. The room was so clean and a very comfortable place to stay. If I return to this area, I will not hesitate to book this hotel.

Great location and a nice hotel. Room was clean. Scott made check in a breeze! My only drawbacks were that our room’s view was of a dirty cluttered roof and although the television was large, it was not a very clear picture. I would definitely stay again.

the front desk was incredibly hospitable, roxanne was so sweet and helpful the entire stay. The snacks near the front desk were a very good price and they had a wide variety. We really enjoyed the stay. The room was very tidy and clean when we got there and there was housekeeping around each day if we needed them.

Lexi and Destiny at the front desk were an amazing for our stay last night!!! They were so sweet and understanding when we said we would be checking in late. They were still here by the time we checked in and they gave us the best customer service I have ever received.

The hotel was extremely clean and home feeling. We had a last minute hotel switch late in the evening. The front desk Lexi & Destiny were very sweet and helpful with directions and recommendations. Our family say thank you for taking the time to help us have a peaceful night's sleep.

Hotel is nice however the issue was with the front desk. On our vacation it appears many properties are hiring warm bodies to fill positions and not actual people who know how to perform the job they are hired for. Our iron was broken so I went down to the front desk to get a functional one and the guy working the front desk wanted to know why it wasn’t working…..really? So he gets me another iron that also doesn’t work. Apparently they had no functioning irons so we went wrinkly the next day. Our shower drain was clogged and my wife was standing in about 3-4 inches of water. When I told the front desk again he seemed puzzled as how to help me with this problem. When we checked out I wanted to pay with another credit card….the lady was unclear as how to accomplish that. To top it off the hotel which normally has free breakfast is now charging $12 for their normally free breakfast.

I'm so conflicted writing this review. The front desk staff was really nice and helpful and while we didn't opt for housekeeping, they were also helpful and accommodating when we needed towels. The theme here is that the hotel has a maintenance problem. Our room was a bit beat up. The shower/tub had seen better days. The bottom of the tub was pretty dirty and the ledge to get into the tub was damaged. Our room door also slammed so hard, if you didn't remember to hold it. Pool heater was broken apparently and the pool was freezing. Here's the funny part that just made me shake my head. The morning after we checked in there was caution tape leading to and blocking the front door. Someone decided that painting the front walkway, in the middle of 4th of July week and what is probably the busiest season with rafters and bikers was a good idea. This should have been staged to paint the left half, allowing the right half of the entrance to enter/exit. Then when that was complete do the other half. Nope. They painted the left half. Then the next day they painted more of the right half leaving a 10 inch wide sliver to enter/exit. Then by the end of the day they painted it all. They never moved the tape around, indicating no one could enter there. It was so comically stupid that no one paid attention to the tape and everyone kept using the front entrance.
