Reception desk closed at 4 pm, so we were obliged to retrieve the envelope with keys from a lock box. We had booked the Condo, 2 Bedrooms, Mezzanine (1 km from slopes), and it was 2 km away from the check-in location. Had a very difficult time locating the 400 block of condos at 2 Belanger, after dark, because they were located off an alley on rue Val Mont and dimly lit. The detailed map of the complex was so securely stapled to the envelope (4 or 5 staples) we didn't realize it was there until after the fact. Once we finally found the place, it was just more disappointment. The floors were gritty and filthy. Everything was the cheapest possible quality, chipped, scratched, old, generally damaged and in poor repair. The couch was black with filth. The guest binder had visible grime on finger-worn pages. Basic cable when listing promised premium channels. Coffee-maker was 12 cups and coffee packet provided was designed to make 4 cups. Too much hassle to drive the 2 km to the main office to get more. Noisiest dishwasher I've ever experienced (ran it overnight and could hear it over the bedroom fans), oven was covered in tin foil and mismatched/chipped/bent plates and cutlery appeared to be garage sale finds, in addition to being dirty from previous guests. Bedrooms were tiny, no luggage rack, bed was 4" foam topper and there was a random bed squeezed in a hallway on the 2nd level, roll over wrong and you'd fall a storey down to the main floor. Stairs to 2nd level lacked a railing - not safe for anyone with balance/mobility issues. Place was HOT, no air conditioning and provided fans were cheap/ineffective. The coolest it got overnight was 24C even with windows and interior doors open for better ventilation - we had a terrible sleep. Dining table and chairs were too big for the space and impeded movement. We were just the two of us, couldn't imagine how awful it would be to have maximum occupancy of 7. Also, walls were very thin/no sound insulation and we could hear our neighbours talking. The only good thing was its proximity to the trailhead, my husband could ride his bike there instead of taking the car.
