Wow, we hired the hotel for a family wedding, and are so glad that we did, it isn't the findly appointed rooms, the dog friendly courtyard room being our choice. It isn't the excellent food, fantastic grounds and gardens that make the hotel, its the friendliest, smiling staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble, from Emma the receptionist, who never tired of my questions, to Vince in the background. Jonathan the friendly, efficient barman. Mr Paulo the chef, and all the others, Martha who oversaw breakfast, and Charlie and Jarrod all determined to ensure your stay is the best you ever had, and succeeding, not just but by miles. Thank you all for making our time with you so special.

A return Wedding Anniversary stay. From check in through to discharge staff were professional/attentive especially Vincent, an asset to the team. Even lighting the fire for us in the lounge. Our upgrade to a Garden Suite was "The icing on the cake"! Waiting staff at dinner excellent & Chef so helpful with alternatives/suggestions for my Gluten free diet. We will certainly return.

Our family booked us a birthday weekend at the hotel but little did we know this didn't just involve us but a private dining room for the whole family. The hotel was in on the deception and played their parts magnificently, taking us off for a drink and nibbles while everyone arrived, then telling us our table was ready and leading us past the main dining room with a throwaway comment that it was fully booked! The food was excellent with several choices which you prebook for a private dining experience, our room comfortable and spacious and the staff quite brilliant at both deceiving us and looking after all of us in a very memorable and special way. Thank you to them all

First of all, the level of service here is second to none, everyone was so friendly, we were well looked after and our dog was made to feel welcome. We stayed in a beautiful courtyard suite, with a very generous dog hamper, and comfortable modern surroundings. The gardens here are stunning, and to sit in front of the open fire is a delight on an autumnal day. The only downside was the lack of background music in the bar and conservatory which made a quiet Sunday afternoon feel very quiet!! But all in all this was a great stay, we were well looked after, and our accommodation was something special.

What a delightful gem of a hotel nestled in such a beautiful setting. The staff are all wonderful and friendly. We stayed in one of the Courtyard rooms with our 2 dogs and were extremetly satisfied with everthing in the room, including the doggy gifts. The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the New Forest. Excellent food and service in Monty's Bar next door. We have absolutely no complaints or negative comments.

We stayed for a wedding, with our three children. The hotel staff couldn’t do enough for us. The place is very child friendly. Our room was beautifully clean and well laid out. The kids loved the enormous bath and the activity packs that were left for them. Thanks so much- we will definitely be back.

The location is great; the staff is attentive and polite. However, it is very expensive - the evening meal main courses cost over £30, and despite booking B&B we had to pay a supplement for a cooked breakfast - surely that should be included!! The room was rather small and dark and located at the top of the hotel - 2 long corridors and 2 flights of stairs to get to.

Well !... What an absolutely fantastic place to stay. From the moment we set foot inside we were made to feel extremely welcome by Emma on reception who went out of her way to accommodate all our needs. Well done Emma, you truly are an asset to the hotel ! Our room was amazing and absolutely ideal for us to chill out and relax for a few days which is just what we wanted. We really appreciated all the added little touches and nothing was too much trouble at all for the very attentive staff. From breakfast in the morning, tea in the lounge in the afternoon and the restaurant facilities were all second to none and in our view the stay was perfection. Thank you so much to Andrew, the General Manager, and all his staff for making this a most splendid stay and as explained we most certainly didn't want to leave and we will be back.... Wonderful 1 night stay at Montague Arms given to us as an anniversary present. Stayed in the Courtyard room which was huge and tastefully decorated with lots of little extras such as White Company toiletries, a welcome drink, air con. Breakfast was excellent.
