First of all very disappointed that we were not informed that the road up to the hotel was closed. A lovely lady who lived locally gave us alternative directions. Mentioned this on checking in and receptionist said Sat Nav should have been able to give us correct information. ‘We do not have sat nav’.Perhaps an email from hotel or a text would have helped with our stress levels. She quickly checked us in and as there were a group of people chatting loudly in that area it was hard to hear her. We had to call her back from her desk and had to ask to be redirected again. Not a very professional check in. First impression of room , nice furnishings and a lovely bathroom. Towels hard and one a little frayed around the edges. As under 5foot mirror on bathroom wall clearly for taller people. Bedroom carpet stained in several places and walls badly marked. Pillows of poor quality and no pillow protectors covering them, just a pillowcase. Mattress would have benefitted from a good topper. Hospitality tray in drawer by fridge, included 2 bottles of water. From the instructions on what is provided in the room , stated tea and coffee maker, showing a symbol of coffee maker. Kettle also displayed. Needs to be made clear that Standard rooms have kettle and superior rooms have coffee maker. Disappointed with dinner which we had in a room following from the bar. Overpriced pub food. Disappointed with the table near us feeding their dog at the table. Very unhygienic. We had booked breakfast but decided to give it a miss. Infact disappointed with the whole stay , also my husband had to ask reception if we could have the heating turned on. Will not recommend or have a further stay.
