Beautiful resort, great location. But as a Disney Travel Agent I would really struggle to recommend this hotel. Booked a weekend night here a few weeks ago. Dropped our luggage in the room, grabbed a dole whip, and headed to the parks. Arrived back at the room late and hit the pillow. We woke up the next morning to a broken shower (the handle fell off) toilet that wouldn't flush, and a tub that wouldn't drain the water stuck in it. Contacted front desk immediately and was told maintenance would come out. We wait an hour and no one showed up. Went back to the front desk and asked again what we could do; we needed a bathroom to get ready. Maintenance was no where to be found and we already gave up the first hour of our park reservations. Their advice? To use the public restroom. We arrived back at the room later to checkout and I'll spare you the rest of the drama. We went two days without a shower in the hot Florida sun with no alternative, no recourse, no apology, nothing. Instead, for $950 a night, if something goes wrong, you'll be escorted to use the public restroom. Here's a photo of my husband washing his hair in the sink. What a disaster.

We booked breakfast with Stitch here for my daughter and it was the absolute worst part of our 5 days in Disney World. The food was inedible, it was totally over booked, the staff were run off their feet and it cost us an absolute fortune. Do not go!

Pros: The public spaces and rooms are extremely clean with such friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable staff. The room interiors are, of course, unique but also spacious. The food anywhere tastes very good. A big thank you for provisions for food allergy issues. Curiosities. A thousand dollar a night room does come with some expectations. I just couldn’t understand why housekeeping could not open the fresh trash liner and put them in the trash cans. I didn’t understand why there were no bathrobes. I grew tired of the dependence on my mobile phone for ordering food and opening my room door. I felt like I had to beg for straws and cup lids; although, the paper straws were adequate, but no one even offered me either one. Caution: The first day is a major adjustment. For us it was just finding food and using the mobile app. Yes, there were places available, but the wait time, the extremely crowded areas, and using the mobile phone to order is just not part of our daily routine. Additionally, all the food items available did not seem to be listed on the mobile phone.

LOVED the Polynesian! Magnificent grounds and decor, especially for Moana fans. We did our check-in onsite and were assigned connecting rooms (even though we hadn't requested them). We had 2 rooms on the third floor of the Rarotonga building, right near the lobby. This was very convenient for early morning (6:30 am) coffee at Kona Island and for the monorail and parking lot, while also being extremely quiet at night (after fireworks). We faced an internal courtyard and had balcony rooms. We could see the MK fireworks from our rooms! One of the rooms was ready early so we changed clothes and visited the Moana splash zone and pool area upon arrival. Loved it. I would absolutely choose the Polynesian again, even though it is costly and busy in the lobby. Housekeeping was excellent, the rooms were immaculate. One time we called down for a few more towels, and someone brought them up immediately. This was our 5th or 6th time at WDW over a span of 30 years and our favorite of all of the hotels so far.

This was our families first trip to Disney world, and our kids’ first-ever Disney experience, was supposed to be magical, but unfortunately, it was far from that. We splurged to book a room with a view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks, hoping for an unforgettable experience. However, from the moment we checked in, everything went downhill. We were assigned a room on the first floor next to the elevators with absolutely no view magic kingdom. In fact, even the massive fireworks display was blocked by palm trees and bushes. This was not the experience we paid thousands of dollars for, and understandably, we were frustrated. When we asked if we could be moved to a room with the view we paid for or at least receive a discount for the limited view, we were told we could only move rooms the following morning. So, we had to wake up our children and pack up our room to completely check out before 8am. We almost missed our first fast pass. We were assured that our new room would be ready by noon, after we checked out and spent the day at the park. However, when we called every hour, we were met with the same response—our room wasn’t ready. We returned to the resort at 4 PM (which is general check in time), exhausted and with a very cranky toddler who had missed his nap. We were told the room still wasn’t ready. At this point, we had no choice but to sit in the lobby for over an hour while our children cried from exhaustion, which was incredibly stressful. On top of all this, the staff mismanaged our Instacart order, sending us on a wild goose chase to track it down. Overall, the customer service was disappointing, especially considering Disney’s reputation for helping families. Every time we asked a question, we were met with the same response "I don't know, you should ask someone else". While there was plenty of staff, they seemed under trained and overworked. Overall, the room was tiny, the staff unhelpful, and the experience felt more like a money grab than a family-friendly vacation. For the amount we paid, we would have been better off staying offsite or at a moderately priced hotel. I would not recommend staying at this resort again.

Pictures include notice that electricity was down for 2 hours and security keeping guests out of closed pool. With the new tower building this place is horribly overbuilt. There are long waits for any restaurant any time of the day. The internet has been down as well. You will find much better options elsewhere.

Another New disney hotel ( Polynesian towers) that is obviously about packaging, not imaginative, cutting edge architecture or extraordinarily special. It’s definitely more like a basic new hilton hotel, with Disney paintings and some various limited props. Pool was so simple , small and boring. Imagineers are gone.

The Polynesian is super easy to get to the majority of the Parks. The hotel itself is very nice, plenty of space for 5 people. There was a refrigerator, but no microwave. A little bit of a walk from the front, but had a beautiful view of the Lagoon and fireworks. I stayed for RunDisney - it was the best, shuttle at the front for the 5K & 10K, the monorail ran for the 1/2 and the Marathon, super convenient.
