The service at Bahia Principe was really quite good. Friendly workers at the front desk and concierge/transportation kiosk really helped. The facilities at Bahia Principe are not up to snuff however. The room was old and tired- in need of much care. For example, there were five lamps/lights in the room and two had light bulbs out. My wife wanted to read at night but there was not enough lighting in the room to even read a book for 15 minutes. The small fridge never worked. But the ants on the coach took the cake. No, they literally were on the hunt for cake in the room! If you want a really solid looking property then book at Ambar, not Principe.
On a positive note the mattress and pillows were comfortable.
One other note and seemed very kid friendly... But the property is huge! So huge that many people will want to take the trams to the beach- which was packed and not the best beach in Punta Cana. Later today I will be reviewing the Majestic Colonial which we also stayed in for a week. Want treated like you're a king or queen? Look at the Majestic properties which were worth the extra pesos.

Nuestra estadía en el hotel Grand Bahía Príncipe en República Dominicana fue simplemente espectacular. Una experiencia súper en todos los sentidos. Las facilidades, el ambiente y sobre todo el trato del personal fue de primera. Quiero destacar especialmente a cuatro excelentes empleados del área del bar de la piscina: Robinson, Luis, Rafael y Junior. Esos chicos se portaron de maravilla con nosotros, siempre atentos, amables y brindando un servicio de primera clase. ¡Gracias por hacer nuestra experiencia aún más especial!

The beach is very nice and the excursions were decently priced and very fun. The shuttle system is nice that drives you around the resort to your room/the beach etc. but some of the drivers were rude and prejudiced (they would drive right pass me and my family when we're trying to get a ride but would stop for lighter skinned people). The resort is currently under renovation and I guess we got put into the non-renovated rooms because some of our rooms had mold (including mine, I was sick the entire trip from sleeping in the room). They put my cousin in a room that people were already staying in and tried to make her pay $2,000 to put her in a better (renovated) room even though we already paid in advance and its not her fault they overbooked. The food in the buffet was not good at all and it smelled weird in there. The outdoor drink stations also had a very unpleasant scent and the the staff at the poolside restaurant were VERY rude. The restaurants that you need reservations for had decent food. So we had a nice vacation but the resort experience was not very good. Many of the staff were very prejudiced against us. At one point at the bar, the bartender kept ignoring my cousin trying to order a drink but when his (white) wife approached they went over to serve her immediately. I intend to visit the DR again but I will NOT be staying at this resort.

Resort excelente, com muita diversão para todas as idades! Adoramos tudo! Pena que toda a praia da costa bávaro, nesta época que fomos estavam com muito sargaço. Fizemos alguns passeios por fora para poder desfrutar do mar e praias que sao tão lindo.
