Joia Bávaro by Iberostar

My husband and I had the most amazing time at Joia de Bávaro last week! The resort was absolutely beautiful, the service was top-notch, and every moment felt like paradise. From the delicious food to the peaceful pools and stunning beach views, it was the perfect romantic getaway. We’re already dreaming of going back!

Overall a great experience. It was our third visit, housekeeping was excellent and staff overall are top notch ! I will say, as someone who travels to Iberostar a LOT (not a member) ... when you ask for a small concession on a room upgrade, they should accommodate you instead of making up stories... As I said I travel a lot and at least 50% is to Iberostars in Mexico and Dominican (30++ trips to Iberostar locations).. I was told the resort is full (lie) and it would be hard to give me something else.. Its the low season - they think Im dumb obviously.. 40% full maybe?? You should reward people who go to Iberostar a lot like we do, so they feel welcome and part of the family instead of making up stories. Majestic resorts rewards us every time with a free room upgrade as we travel more and more to Majestic, no stories, no argument, they have better loyalty to their customers. So we are travelling more and more to Majestic resorts, and slowly cutting down on Iberostar. rooms are getting a bit dated as the resort is about 15 years old. Food was excellent Drinks were excellent. restaurants and buffets were very good Lobby area at night time was very good, live music and dancing was fun. One waitress was amazing, the other was NOT. She would take your empty drink and walk away not even asking if you would like another drink, so I would have to get up and go to the lobby bar to get a drink.. Eventually another waitress asked if we wanted a drink, and took excellent care of us, the other waitress would then walk past me starting at me in the face with evil eyes lol... DO YOUR JOB !! ... also I tip a LOT.. Pool was warm this time of the year, water was quite warm.. Stayed in the shade mostly. There didnt seem to be any bugs, mosquitoes etc.. Last time I was here I was eaten alive so I was concerned returning. It was fine this time. Games around the pool and on the grounds were fun. There were people from USA, Canada (not many), south america, and Europe. There seemed to be a lack of entertainment staff, but the ones they had were excellent !! The seaweed was extreme.. I have never seen it so bad. Not much they can do, they were cleaning constantly with truck loads, but more and more was coming in. We will be back at some point, but majestic is our choice for next 2 trips... overall Iberostar Joia is a really nice resort, and you can go for a walk to the other resorts and use them also which is nice.

Great resort for couples. I have nothing negative to say. Private transfer from the airport was great. Food was great. Golf course was perfect. Booked this place based on trip advisor reviews. Total luxury experience. Couldn’t ask for more.
