일단, 많은 리뷰들에서도 봤던 사항이지만, 직원들이 친절하진 않습니다.
그리고 제가 느낀 바로는, 특히 백인들에게는 상당히 친절했으나 동양인에게 같은온도로 대하지는 않았습니다.
예를들어, 첫날 입실할 때도 (아침 일찍도착해서 로비에서 기다렸음) 세시가 되자 키를 주시더라구요. (세시 전엔 입실 안됨??;;;)
나중에 안 사실이지만, 웰컴 드링크가 있다고 합니다. 로비에서 앉아서 기다리는데 그런 안내를 해주는 직원은 한명도 없었어요
일찍 도착하신다면, 그래서 기다려야 한다면 로비에 앉아서 드링크 달라고 당당하게 요청하세요 !
또한 다음날 셔틀로 조지타운을 가기위해 셔틀 스케쥴을 물었을때, 옆에있던 스케쥴표만 보여줬습니다.
다음날 아침, 셔틀 시간표에 맞춰 준비하고 내려갔을때, "예약이 필요하다 ! 너는 예약 안했다" 라고 하며 (영어로) 쏘리 한번을 안하더라구요.
고객이 앞에서 셔틀을 못탔다고 이야기하고 있는데, 쏘리 한번을 안하며 지네들끼리 말레이어로 이야기 하는게 정상은 아닌것 같습니다.
하다못해 부킹했어야 했으나 못한것 같으니 그랩이라도 불러줄까 하는게 정상적인 반응 일것 같습니다만.
물론 저는 그랩 불러서 나갔습니다. 하지만, 전날 미리 셔틀 스케쥴을 물어봤음에도 예약에 대한 이야기도 안해주고 잘못은 1도 없는것처럼 행동하는건 정말 기분 나빴어요
라사윙에서 묵었기때문에 에프터눈 티셋트와 저녁 해피아워 (맥주/와인/칵테일타임) 은 매우 좋았습니다.
하지만 막상 해피아워엔 먹을게 별로 없었습니다. 간단하게 음료와 즐기는 정도로는 괜찮습니다.
에프터눈 티셋트의 얼그레이차와 스콘은 정말 맛있습니다. 꼭 즐겨보세요 .
일단 샹그릴라는 5성급 호텔의 명성에 맞는 서비스가 무엇인지 생각해보시기를.
(호텔에서 가장 친절했던 직원은 메인풀장에 있는 아저씨였음. 제일제일 친절했음 하나를 물어보면 열을 대답해주심 )
리뷰들에 청결도에 대한 이야기들이 많이 있는데, 동남아 호텔치고는 괜찮지만 5성급 호텔의 청결도라고 생각하면 조금 갸웃거리게 됩니다.
다음번에도 페낭에서 샹그릴라를 가게될지 한번더 고민해봐야 겠습니다.
