Wedding Nightmare – Roaches, Poor Hygiene, No Response We hosted a large wedding at Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge on December 17–18, 2022, with over 700 guests — a $96,000 event — and the experience was a complete disaster. Multiple guests found roaches in their rooms, including the bride and groom’s suite, which had to be evacuated. Pest control was brought in during the wedding, and even they admitted the issue was widespread and not solvable by treating a single room. Guests were so disturbed they avoided the hotel food entirely, fearing similar hygiene issues in the kitchen. Some guests left the hotel and found other accommodations at their own expense — yet I was still charged for those unused, uninhabitable rooms. I’ve repeatedly contacted hotel management and IHG corporate. Their only response? A token offer of 15,000 IHG points (roughly $75) — for a wedding experience that was ruined for our entire family and hundreds of guests. This hotel is not suitable for hosting events or large groups. The lack of cleanliness, professionalism, and accountability is appalling. I will be filing a complaint with the Louisiana Department of Health, contacting local media, and pursuing legal action if this is not properly addressed.

I arrived at the Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge around 1 AM for a very short stay. The room was spacious with two queen beds, a desk, and a small kitchen area with a Keurig, microwave, and fridge—definitely appreciated after a long travel day. While the room was overall clean and comfortable, there were a few areas that seemed overlooked by housekeeping, and not all the outlets were working. That said, for a quick overnight, it served its purpose well. I’d stay again but hope for a bit more attention to detail next time.

Wonderful place with bar and restaurant. Clean accommodations and excellent staff. The pool area was beautiful. It was fun to meet with our friends and have a few evening drinks in the pool area. Our rooms were spacious, and beds were very comfortable!

Party place Clean, comfortable, but nights were restless due to “wedding of the year” and door slamming through the first night and blasting music through the second night, despite being told it would end at midnight. Must request room NOT over ballroom if stay there again.

Rosa + Kenya took care of us in the restaurant and were great! The food was also amazing!! I had the spicy bbq shrimp + grits, a friend had a burger, and another friend had Mediterranean shrimp pasta - all so so good. I frequent here and this is def better than I remember it being before. Excited for my next visit!!

Kenya and Rosie were amazing and had great food recommendations. Would def recommend the seafood grits or the Mediterranean shrimp pasta. Would definitely come back for more. The recommendations were honest and spot on. The mushroom shrimp burger was great as well.
