It feels like a family hotel. The owner and his wife live on one end of the house and the guests live on the other side. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is very warm, the rooms are clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. It really makes you feel like you are home. We stayed in a family room on the second floor, with a small courtyard in the back. The children happily built two snowmen in the back.
The location of the hotel itself is right next to the highway. But it's not a main thoroughfare, so it's not noisy. Richard's Second Bedroom Manor, Edensol Town Bakewell, the main attractions in the wind area are all very close, within 15 minutes' drive.
The slight drawback is that except for the Robin Hood Club restaurant it operates, there are no other shops around.
