Premier Inn Basingstoke West

We stayed for 5nights and all agreed.... Quiet rooms. No lift. Lots of stairs can be hardwork if you have to carry a lot of kit for work. Great size carpark - lots and lots of parking for vans. Fantastic staff super professional and helpful in the restaurant and hotel.

I have used Premier Inns hundreds of times without issues. This time however was different. Room had no hot water. Fan continued whirring all through the night despite being switched off. When we reported this to reception, we were told to submit our complaint online. No apology given. Once accessing the online site, we found there is no option to complain, only to give feedback. Not good customer service.

Premier Inns usually provide a standard for the business traveller. This one is poor standards. The walls are cracked, there are marks on the wall, mould around the windows etc etc. whilst the bed is comfortable that’s really it. Also the carpark is chargeable.

Excellent hotel, great value and Beefeater next door is fantastic value for money with meal deal offer. Only downside, there is no lift to second floor but this would not stop us from staying here. Lovely clean rooms and all facilities are included, tea and coffee and bathroom toiletries, can not fault.

When working away, all you really want is a nice clean room, that is value for money and you don’t have to share the toilet or shower with other patrons of the establishment. Nothing wrong with the hotel , check in friendly and professional Rooms are clean enough unless you are part of the white glove brigade. Everything worked, tv, kettle, heating. Curtains aren’t hanging off the rails The location easy to get to, but they charge over £100 a night and now you have to pay for parking on top. Absolute **** takers. They will probably blame someone else, it’s not our fault, blah, blah, blah… It is now just another hotel I am going to have to swerve. They have never been value for money but they meet an acceptable standard. The purple palace isn’t what it use to be, there are better hotels for less

The hotel was clean and the bed comfy. There's a decent sized TV and the staff were great. What really annoyed me though is that firstly there is a payment for the car park which is miles out of the town centre and only serves this hotel and the adjoining pub (the pub has free parking using the same spaces). Additionally, the payment machine is not obviously a parking machine when its dark and is easy to miss. It's only £3 per night but why not just put it on the room cost? It just seems like Whitbread / Premier Inn are trying to entrap you into a parking fine. (RE: Photo : The car park is to the left of reception in the picture so you would go past the payment machine if you used the ramp, however if you use the steps, you can easily miss it when it's dark as there is no ambiant lighting around. You would also get very wet using it on a dark, rainy night).
