As usual, an excellent quality hotel with a good location at a good rate. We were traveling back from a city break in Rome and wanted to break the journey back from Heathrow to home to see relatives. The Premier Inn, Basingstoke, is well located for access to the town centre and just a short drive off the M3, so it was ideal. Our flight was delayed so we rang the hotel which assured us they'd be open for a late arrival, which they were. The parking is not good, maybe 12 cars can park in the hotel carpark, and at midnight those spaces are all taken. There's a surface carpark next to the hotel, it's "pay and display", irritatingly, if the hotels car park is full, you cannot turn right and enter this, you have to make a complete circuit of the town's one way system. There's no mention of a reimbursement process from the Premier Inn if you are unlucky and have to use this rather than the hotels parking. Reception was fine, even at midnight, and the room, while rather warm, was clean, tidy and functional. There was no noise, which was important after a very long day. Breakfast was good and checkout was efficient.
