Convenient location and close to the town centre shopping mall, restaurants and bars but still quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. For a better nights sleep would choose twin beds instead of a double bed unless you are travelling with children.

I generally really like Premier Inns and this one ticks all of the main boxes. Rooms are good, beds are great, price is reasonable. It allowed us to see family who couldn’t host us overnight and was convenient and easy. Unfortunately, our two rooms were on the first floor, backing onto the municipal carpark, and right next to a power plant which sounded like a low level jet engine all night. This ‘white noise’ bothered some of us including me. However the 4:30am fire alarm disturbed everyone - we were up and dressed and heading out of the room by the time it stopped! Check-in was slow and check-out was nonexistent ie no staff to be seen so no explanation for the terrible night. I’d stay there again for the convenience and quality of the room. But I’d request to be on another floor and on another side of the hotel. And I’m assuming the Premier Inn ‘Good Night Guarantee’ will compensate us for our disturbed night.

As usual, an excellent quality hotel with a good location at a good rate. We were traveling back from a city break in Rome and wanted to break the journey back from Heathrow to home to see relatives. The Premier Inn, Basingstoke, is well located for access to the town centre and just a short drive off the M3, so it was ideal. Our flight was delayed so we rang the hotel which assured us they'd be open for a late arrival, which they were. The parking is not good, maybe 12 cars can park in the hotel carpark, and at midnight those spaces are all taken. There's a surface carpark next to the hotel, it's "pay and display", irritatingly, if the hotels car park is full, you cannot turn right and enter this, you have to make a complete circuit of the town's one way system. There's no mention of a reimbursement process from the Premier Inn if you are unlucky and have to use this rather than the hotels parking. Reception was fine, even at midnight, and the room, while rather warm, was clean, tidy and functional. There was no noise, which was important after a very long day. Breakfast was good and checkout was efficient.

Great clean room! Breakfast was excellent, great choice and piping hot! David the manager was very helpful and looked after us very well! I was worried about the parking but I needn’t have worried! Reception gave me clear instructions on how to park at Castons carpark next door. Thanks so much for a pleasant stay!
