Fantastic room overlooking the Solent, really nice friendly staff, owner (I think) is very attentive, great for dogs and their owners. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be back. Car park has plenty of room so the comments on here don’t make sense? Breakfast was just perfect.

We ordered flatbreads . The service was quick. We were not given cutlery or napkins. The prawn and smoked salmon flatbread was extremely disappointing.tasteless and badly presented with some rocket thrown on the flatbread. The tomato and mozzarella flatbread was also disappointing and tasteless. The tomatoes were not very fresh and the mozzarella cheese was cheddar not mozzarella as stated. Total lack of seasoning and presentation . We will not return for food as we were planning a family get together as the scenery is perfect. We were not asked how are meal was ,if we had been asked I would have told them how very disappointing the food was.

What an absolute shambles! On top of an expensive menu the service was shocking. Went here to celebrate a 30 birthday. They took 40 minutes to take our order, 45 minutes to bring the starter. Then no-one came to order pudding but they bought the bills for our tables and told us we had to vacate the tables! When we said we hadn't had pudding, they simply didn't care and continued to hand out bills. On top of that, they wouldn't take of the deposit and decided to refund it to the person who paid it. Now they have to take a significant amount of time, requesting bank details and returning deposits. Ridiculous! Not a good experience. Won't be going back

Lovely restaurant. Amazing views, superb food, attentive and friendly staff. Recommended. The hake was fab as was the seared tuna starter. They also served a local real ale which was excellent.

Absolutely loved our 2 night stay here, one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. Super friendly staff from the moment we walked in, nothing was too much trouble, they are genuinely invested in making each and every guest feel valued and welcome. We stayed in Portland and it was a delightful room; spotlessly clean with a stunning view of the needles. Nice little freeview tv with all apps available to log into. Food and drinks really good. Try the spicy mango margarita, absolutely bang on ;) thanks to all for making my daughter's A Level results day so memorable and positive. We will be back for sure.

Just went in for drink and snack. Offshore Lager for me, great. Zero alcohol Lager on tap for my wife, unusual and great feature. Young staff absolutely lovely. Views over IOW stunning. Had whitebait light bite between us. Chef made tartare sauce brilliant, whitebait beer battered and chef cooked. As good as any I've had. Georgious outside bar with zero wait for service even though most of garden tables occupied. Just can't fault.

The Cliff House is one of our favourite restaurants in the area. James and his team always make everyone feel welcome. The staff are extremely attentive. One overheard us toasting my friends birthday and, without any overt prompting from anyone, presented him with a lovely Happy Birthday dessert and a discreet "Happy Birthday" without any cringe worthy singing lol! The restaurant is a relaxing, comfortable environment, and the food is consistently amazing and great quality, enhanced by a great selection of wines and delicious cocktails! Thanks again for an amazing evening!
