La casa, su situación, los alrededores y la atención de Íñigo, su anfitrión, merecen por nuestra parte, la máxima calificación. Gracias a ello, pudimos disfrutar de una estancia satisfactoria y muy agradable. Alojamiento muy recomendable.

Nachdem wir im Vorjahr auf der Fahrt in den Süden im Parador-Hotel in Argomanitz mit Halbpension übernachteten, entschlossen wir uns jetzt, es einmal im Mirador Ardea in Mendixur zu tun. Der Grossteil der Bewertungen war überzeugend dazu und wir haben es nicht bereut. Unser Navi hat die Adresse perfekt angefahren und Íñigo begrüsste uns sehr herzlich nach dem wir geschellt hatten, mit Vornamen. Als wenn wir uns schon ewig kennen würden. Wir bekamen ein nettes Zimmer im Erdgeschoss und wurden dann bald in den Essraum eingeladen, wo wir vorzüglich von Íñigo bekocht und bedient wurden. Der Wein passte auch sehr gut zum Menue. Die Aussicht auf den See lies den Stress von der Fahrt schnell verfliegen, so dass wir nach dem Essen noch in Ruhe auf der Terrasse die Flasche Wein leeren konnten. Das Frühstück war baskisch angehaucht und schnell verspeist, so dass wir zügig unsere Weiterfahrt antreten konnten. Wir freuen uns schon auf ein Wiedersehen im Herbst.

It is a very nice, well maintained, romantic place with a special touch you won't get in a chain hotel, nerby lake, very quiet, relax guaranteed! The owner is more than charming and he helped when I had a car problem!

Pésima experiencia. Trato descortés, poco afable. Avisamos con antelación (varias horas antes) por teléfono y mensaje de nuestra hora de llegada por cuestiones personales, pero no le gustó (23h), nos puso muy mala cara… La habitación estaba fría y con todo desenchufado. Chimenea eléctrica que no funcionaba bien. No había mantas y la temperatura de la habitación no se podía aumentar. El agua de la ducha salía fría por lo que tuvimos que ducharnos así. Los jabones eran rellenados sin etiquetar. Otros: Tv pequeña, secador estropeado, ventanal sucio, la puerta bate en el retrete, sigo buscando el wifi… Otra mala cara al irnos, ni se molestó casi en recoger las llaves. Tuvimos que abrir nosotros el portalón, él ni salió de la casa. Muy decepcionante, llevábamos altas expectativas en este alojamiento. No merece la pena lo que cuesta.

I stayed here for the second time in July as a base for Ironman Vitoria-Gasteiz. Although it’s only 20 minutes from the city centre it’s an absolute haven of peace and tranquillity. With easy access to great cycling, bird reserves and a natural wildlife refuge, lovers of nature won’t be disappointed. Inside it’s modern and cool and well appointed, and Iñigo, the host, will try and make your stay as relaxed as possible. He does a lovely breakfast of fruit salad, home baked goods and toast with fresh orange and coffee. If you’re lucky he will have made one of his Basque cheesecakes. In short, it’s a great spot to relax and unwind, but you will need transport to get to restaurants and bars.
