Dont look to closely, I found the hotel tired and dirty, The room was a good size but there was a lot of cleaning still to do. Hair in the bath and in the corners, sink needed washing out before using. Thin walls so very noisy, you can hear conversations from the next door room. Very limited staff numbers which probably explains it, I would not stay again there are much better hotels nearby.

Visiting our son for 5 days and booked into the Crofters Lodge for the first time. Very nice room, clean, warm and great shower. We didn’t eat in the pub next door but we did stop in one evening for a drink. Very friendly staff. We will book here again for our next visit.

Paid £100 for a deluxe double HMS Soverign.. wouldnt have called it deluxe really. Bed was really comfy and looked clean until you notice all the dust on the panelling behind the bed and cob webs from the beams. Bathroom a little grubby around the bath and shower head but clean otherwise. The curtain pole was hanging off the wall too.. and then we looked in the drawers (to see if there was a hairdryer) and we found an open blue pill and packet! We laughed to start with then realised what might have happened if we had our little girl with us. Also walls very thin so we could hear all the comings and goings. Not on at all... for the price we paid we expect a clean and damage free room . Sorry but we wouldnt stay here again.

Came here after visiting Ulverston and travelling further north. Pub is in the middle of housing estate, but it wasn't noisy from cars, etc. We arrived a little early and were able to check in. Luckily, we asked about a sandwich or something as we had 10 minutes to order. The opportunity to order lunch wasn't offered before we asked. We sat on a very torn leather sofa, which is weird when all the other furniture seemed new. Sandwich was ok, nothing special. The room was spacious. We were in a ground floor one, HMS Albion, it was clean (bathroom needs regrouting), and the bed was comfy. We had evening meal, chips were hard, i felt they were frozen oven chips, hubby had curry and he said it tasted like a sauce from a jar. Although restaurant on site, there was no breakfast available

It was a quick overnight stop on the way north. It’s a strange location. Feels like it’s in the middle of a housing estate and trapped out of time. But it’s nice enough once you get in. The room available is t really what’s represented in web site images. Very very small. But clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit of a laugh. I felt sorry for the cleaning staff. The shower over the bath and bath shower screen makes it more or less impossible to not end up with a saturated bathroom. Don’t leave anything on the floor while you shower. Otherwise it’s fictional and at the special rate of £67 you can put up with it. The bar and restaurant are ok as well. The service was laboured but pleasant enough. At the price and for a quick stop I’d stay here again. For longer, get the bigger rooms. The ones they suck you in with on the web page searches. The location is poor but once again probably reflective of the price when it’s right.

When we booked for 1 night we where not told at the time off booking there food stopped at 7pm , when we did go to eat the food was awful , I had a roast my husband had a chicken dish , my cheese sauce on the cauliflower was a packet mix and tasted awful , my husbands chicken was dry we didn’t eat the meals , we had a few drinks and where disgusted the way the managers just sat there drinking shouting at the staff to get food when the bell rang when the staff were busy , but they still sat there drinking not helping , not the way to manage a pub/restaurant, this place could be a goldmine in the right hands, no breakfast options and nowhere to do food in the rooms, the bathroom was so dirty , no hairdryers, iron or ironing board , obviously not checked by the managers , it’s a shame as this was our 2nd time here and the first time food was nice , room was nice ,

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean . Nicely decorated . The staff were all friendly and helpful. Both evenings we ate at the pub , food was very good , well priced and good size portions . Would defo recommend as a good value place to stay to visit the local area .

Recently stayed at this hotel for a number of weeks on business. The rooms are in a block separate from the pub/restaurant. I found the location quiet during nights, important for me as I'm quite a light sleeper. Nice family pub and restaurant with a fair selection of food on the menu. Table service was put in place again in the last week because of Covid. Carrie, the bar manager was extremely helpful and friendly, especially with juggling the last minute room bookings.

We stayed in 2 rooms as a family of 5 for 3 nights while visiting family & friends in the area. Very lovely & clean rooms & fantastic service throughout our stay. The pub was a perfect meet up place for meals & drinks & we thoroughly enjoyed our time.
