Dalmeny Park House Hotel

Room was lovely and clean with everything you need during your stay. Room was serviced however the milk and coffee had not been replenished therefore had to go looking at reception to ask for more - there was no one around at reception area so just went to bar In restaurant and asked for some there. At breakfast there was a good selection and the waitress ( I think her name was Terry) was very pleasant with nothing being too much trouble for her. Cooked breakfast was okay - think it was batch cooked then reheated , didn’t taste freshly cooked to order like it used to be. Hotel looks beautifully decorated but feel the booths make it feel more like a pub surrounding rather than a restaurant. I also felt overall staffing levels are at a minimum and hotel is probably more 3 star than a 4 star. All that said it would be a nice venue for a wedding as it is situated in lovely grounds - maybe that’s more who they cater for now.

This is probably the best hotel that I have stayed at in this area. The hotel is so quiet and had a great sleep on a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was great and freshly made. I will definitely return if I am in this area. Thank you very much for a lovely stay

Beautiful hotel and gardens Friendly and helpful staff, service in restaurant shocking for a half empty restaurant Felt sorry for waiter having to apologise to 4 surrounding tables for their wait. Couple next to us ordered as we were served starter and were still waiting after we ate our main meal. Our starter arrived 25 mins after ordering and was surprised as it was a cold starter of prawns/salmon and pate. main of braised beef nice but overcooked limp veg and mash potato had been left too long it had dried up. Other meal of chicken tough in bits and not enough sauce. Breakfast of full Scottish good although was given fried egg rather than scrambled as asked. Eggs Royale were really undercooked although I did ask the white to be fully cooked so it was left. Beautiful hotel but service time and food we ate would not return. Shame as hotel is beautiful.

Stayed earlier in year and was disappointed in food but decided to give hotel another chance to redeem itself.First issue was accessing our room as keycard wouldn’t work so after going to reception the man came up to change batteries in door but this took so long so was allocated another room,103 which had room overlooking nearby housing scheme so not the best .Hotel restaurant was very quiet for a Sunday evening so expected quick service but were so wrong.Ordered meal and waited 25 minutes for starter of pate and prawn/salmon starter,prawns weren’t cold so could tell plate had been lying out too long before service.Heard 4 tables around us being apologised to due to length of wait and actually felt sorry for staff having to do this as it’s not there fault.Main of braised beef nice but veg very overcooked,potato you could tell was plated first on plate as started to dry out so had skin on it and other meal chicken was tough.Personally I don’t understand why the food gets great reviews going by the last 2 visits and especially the amounts of times the server had to apologise to nearby tables as restaurant was half empty.Overall beautiful hotel and grounds but after this visit won’t be back.

Had a really nice overnight stay at Dalmeny Park recently. It got off to a great start because we were able to sit in the patio area and enjoy a few hours of rare Scottish sunshine 🌞 I must add that our check in was handled professionally and smoothly by Andrew who checked us in on a previous visit. We were staying in The Kintyre Suite which is probably one of the top rooms in the Hotel. It had everything you needed really and was immaculately kept. It also had a beautiful view over the outside wedding venue. Our 2 course dinner at night was very nice. It was there we met Lynne who was the restaurant front of house. She kept things flowing well, as the restaurant was quite busy and there was also a wedding on. Next morning at breakfast we were served by Norma. Again someone we met the last time and she made us laugh as well as tending to our breakfast order. Dalmeny Park is one of our favourite hotels in the Rad Group to stay or dine at. We’ll certainly be doing one or the other in the near future.

We had a fantastic afternoon tea experience with twenty of us joining to celebrate my sister getting married in a few weeks. In planning the event, the staff at the Dalmeny were so kind and easy- going with me; nothing was ever a problem and there were no silly questions. They worked with me to ensure that all dietary requirements were met, including a food allergy that one of our party had. On the day, we had the Rose Suite, which was set up beautifully with our own private bar. We were taken care of extremely well by Lynne and Angel, who were kind, warm and attentive all afternoon. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the amount was very generous! I cannot thank the staff at the Dalmeny for all their help in making sure my sister, and her guests, had a lovely celebration together before her wedding next month. We were so thrilled by the experience, that we’re already looking ahead to plan a similar afternoon for our parents’ milestone wedding anniversary. Thank you so much!

We booked Dalmeny Park as a Wedding Venue. Our stay was amazing from start to finish. The rooms are fantastic, staff and wedding co-ordinators are brilliant at their job. Everything went smoothly, even the weather! The rooms are immaculate and great value. The restaurant staff the night before were very attentive and the meal was delicious. The whole experience was truly magical and flawless. I would definitely recommend this venue. The feedback from all guests was 100% I wish I could do it all over again.

90th Birthday Party for my father. Private room hired with lunch and drinks service. Was a 10 out,of 10 success from start to finish with the service, quality of food and the actual location absolutely faultless. We had facility for 40 but only had 28 on the day. Worked a treat. Special mention to Norma and Darren who provided vast bulk of service and were extremely helpful on all aspects throughout.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the dining experience my husband and I had at your restaurant today for lunch. We have previously enjoyed an afternoon tea at your establishment and were quite pleased with the service and quality of food. However, today's lunch fell far short of our expectations. For starter dishes were satisfactory, but the main courses were quite disappointing. My husband ordered the steak pie, but what was served resembled stewed beef with a piece of puff pastry on top. The mashed potatoes accompanying the dish were bland and tepid. A generous serving of gravy would have significantly improved the dish. As for my order of Haddock with mushy peas, I specifically requested potatoes instead of fries. Regrettably, the meal was initially served without any peas, requiring me to request them separately. When the peas finally arrived, they were enjoyable. However, the batter on the fish was oily and heavy, making it rather stodgy. Despite this, the fish itself was of good quality. Both the potatoes served with my dish and the mashed potatoes accompanying my husband's steak pie lacked flavour and were disappointingly tepid. When the waiter collected our fairly full plates, he said he would speak with the chef - especially about the fish. He did not come back to tell us what the chef said and basically ignored the fact that neither of us had enjoyed the meal. Overall, our dining experience today was not up to the standard we have come to expect from your establishment based on previous visits.
