Cedars Inn by Greene King Inns

Our third visit to this lovely Inn for family weddings & parties. The staff at reception were so polite and helpful they really went out of their way to help us. The room was beautiful with a really comfortable bed.it was lovely and warm spotlessly clean and the bathroom was amazing,a huge walk in shower so refreshing with warm fluffy white towels we really had a wonderful time the room was so cosy and nice to relax in The breakfast was also delicious in the very nice restaurant with lovely helpful staff if your coming to Barnstaple I highly recommend staying here

Wonderful celebration for a big birthday! We were given one of the private conservatory rooms to decorate ready for a family meall celebrating a 50th. We were looked after by Sam who was just fabulous. Food was devine! Every dish served was piping hot, fresh and delicious. Not an easy feat for a party of 9. We had a special celebration cake which staff brought out with candles ready lit and jugs of cream, plates & forks for us all to enjoy - even though the cake hadn’t been purchased from there. The only constructive feedback I have to offer is for the door to the ladies’ toilet to be cleaned. It is grimy and dirty from many hands pushing it open over a long period of time, and quite unhygenic.

Sammi was amazing, lovely friendly staff who remembered us from a previous visit! She made everything smooth for us, which was especially nice given we had a newborn with us aswel. It's always lively when we come here and today was just as nice.

Attended a wedding at Cedars and the staff were particularly attentive and ensured the day went smoothly. Really made all the difference. Sam at breakfast was particularly great in ensuring we all sat together - all 20+ of us. Thanks all at cedars

You are having a wonderful time on holiday, you have thought of everything to bring with you, but oh no!, who is going to wash the kids clothes, never mind your own…, who could you ask at the hotel? Do not depair, these ladies at house keeping are worth their weight in gold. Who are they I can see you asking, well they are Laura, Hayley, Sassie, Sue, Mel, Kayla, Pailine and Jo to the rescue!!! Thank goodness for their prompt intervention, else we would have had to wear our costumes this evening and am sure that will be frowned upon, in this hotel! Now although the hotel service is free, a donation wouldn’t go amiss to these lovely ladies, they have to pay bills too! I know this is not often heard, so “Thank You for all your hard work, very much appreciated” ❤️

Excellent service, staff all very welcoming and friendly. Room immaculate. Very quiet and peaceful. Lovely garden and surroundings. Will be back. Food great. Friendly bar in the evenings. Ideally placed for the town and walks. Sammie looked after us great couldn't do enough for everybody at breakfast. About time GK sorted your leaks in the restaurant though.

As a couple stayed in Hotel attached. Separate review given for Hotel. As meal attended with friends, was fantastic. Great choice for Gluten free for me. Friends had muggle meals ( normal not gluten free) and were very happy with their choice and servers very helpful and friendly

Room is one of the best I’ve been in. Staff very friendly, especially Sammie - she bent over backwards to accommodate. Very helpful, cheerful and chatty. In fact all the staff were great. Any issues were fixed almost as soon as reported. Breakfast is good, chef is good. Can’t fault it! It's a Greene King basic chain pub - don’t recommend the rest of the chain menu (I generally avoid sole Greene King and Hungry Horse pubs, but the Chef and Brewer part of the GK chain is usually reasonably decent). The locals will tip their head to the side and say oh - your staying there - “it’s gone downhill recently” However, You do get 20% off food if you’re staying. It’s due an out of season makeover soon (date tbc), so things will (probably) improve - as they’re also a wedding venue! The Bride I met was happy with her reception. They also cater for other functions. After the evening restaurant staff ignored me for 15 minutes - I went to the chippy down the road - which is excellent by the way!! The pub up the road is also fab for Sunday Lunch!!!

Bedrooms are well kept, comfortable and very functional. Excellent mattresses, had a quiet sleep and all the necessary basics plus a few perks included (although bring a hairdryer if you need one). Sammi was great as our breakfast host and the food was great. Even though there was a wedding going on at the same time we had excellent service from very friendly staff.
