The Redwell Inn

A very pleasant stay and a nice breakfast the following morning. Barney is a wonderful little town, even if you don't need your eyes tested.

Excellent overnight stay, clean and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing and will definitely be going back.

Good for a short stay, if you don’t need luxury As long as you are not looking for luxury this could be for you. A little tired around the edges, but seemed well run organised and efficient.

No facilities no restaurant no bar Don’t stay here there’s no facilities no bar no restaurant as stated when booked Booked a room here as it had a restaurant and bar, on arrival waited 10 minutes for someone to arrive at reception, once checked in we were told the restaurant was closed as they had run out of food, so we had to get a taxi into Barnard castle try find somewhere to eat, got a taxi back and Redwell inn was all locked up it was only 7.30, I texted the number left in our room and was told they closed at 7 and that we had been informed this was a lie, we were not told when booking or checking in, spent the rest of the night in our room if we could have drove we would have left, room was dirty stains on carpets and bed, there was a terrace with dirty cigarette ends in ashtray. Didn’t sleep as there was a constant buzzing I presume an extractor fan had been left on or boiler running. Dressing table very wobbly had once been screwed to the wall but had come away Toilet seat was loose rusty dirty toilet brush shabby bathroom Owner was unresponsive

Adequate Small twin room with no surfaces near the beds to rest anything on. Self closing loo with a lid that would not stay up. Good breakfast but everything including bowls, milk condiments had to be requested.

Red well inn Place was quaint lovely inn nice and welcoming will deffo use again if in the area
