Quality Inn

Given that Quality Inn is Choice Hotels' lower-tier brand, one notch above the bare-bones Econolodge, this location met expectations. But visitors be advised, it's a bit rough. We received friendly greetings and fine service upon check-in, tho' the credit card reader was out of order--a harbinger of things to come. We were given an accessible room, something we don't really need--and that was fortunate. The rooms are tight. There's about 2 1/2 feet between foot of bed and other furniture--not enough for most wheelchairs. Bathroom door was wide enough, and lots of grab bars around the toilet--plus a light switch low on the wall. But the shower was in a regular bathtub--the wheelchair user would need to put the shower chair in the tub, and find a way to get over the tub rim. Likewise the sink--unwisely put in the bedroom and not behind the door in the bath--was at a regular height, so a wheelchair user would need to reach up to wash. Our room door was a bit too tight for its frame and we had to shoulder it open and yank it hard to shut. The satellite TV had been compromised by the weather, so about half the channels were out. The free breakfast was another adventure. I found the dining room empty except for a couple of men who were laughing at tic-tok videos on the mobile. Better than many Quality Inns nowadays, they had the steam buffet with sausage patties and rounds of egg. There was the usual small choice of dry cereal, two bagels, one slice of bread, and a big vat of pancake syrup--but no waffle maker. I was happy to assemble my egg, sausage and bagel breakfast sandwich--but where was the usual sweet rolls and yogurt and so forth? Plus, the men who were watching videos presently went through the employees only door into the kitchen and offices. Now on the plus side--my wife was very pleased at the cleanliness of the place, and the sleep quality was delightful. So I might consider another stay here if circumstances so suggest. Perhaps location in a town of 350 has something to do with conditions. But I'd urge them to try their best to get everything working better.

Avoid this Hotel at all costs. The website photos must have been taken 30 years ago as nothing on their site is accurate. Upon arrival it appears that this is an old hotel that has been abandoned for several years. Paint pealing from nearly every room door, unkempt grounds, and a horrible parking lot that has crater size holes. Our room was dirty, with a previously used towel on the back of the bathroom door, snd a microwave that had food in it from a previous guest. Can’t say enough negative comments about the so called hot breakfast buffet. They ran out of scrambled eggs vert early, the coffee tasted like dishwasher, and the sausage patties were disgusting!
