Bargara Gardens Boutique Villas

Poor service, and it’s an old and dilapidated property. But it’s cheap, and at least the aircon works. It’s generally clean, but don’t expect anything special. Eg the oven door didn’t close properly, it still worked but took twice as long to cook anything. Another example is that there are gaps under some of the doors, so baby snakes can enter the inside of some of the properties. This is a safety problem, because this region is rife with Taipans and Brown snakes.

Thank you for our nice, clean, air conditioned room and a clean pool for a quick dip. Close to everything, but far enough away from the motel on the corner to keep the fleas at bay. The manager Lea (hope I spelled it correctly) was very nice and made sure we were right at home. Off street parking is enough for all guests which is very convenient and made it feel more secure and secluded, despite being in the middle of town.

Quiet and very clean. Villas are stand alone cabins from another time, but with updated features. Cable TV, good solid beds, basic kitchen supplies, crisp sheets, lots of of hot water and great water pressure, easy checkin, and a block from the beach. Totally quiet at night. Stayed in the yellow/ turquoise cabin with front porch behind office, and it was so cute and quiet. Forget motel ***** in Bundy, try Bargara; it’s a lovely wide beach 🏝 and definitely ok for a couple of nights.

The lovely lady on reception went out of her way to accommodate us and our little fur baby. Our villa had a nice retro feel very comfy beds great hot water and aircon and our own private courtyard. Close to shops and eateries and just a block away from the beach. Enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again.

We had a small tucked away villa next to the reception. Almost everything was very 1960's (except the tv) but very quant. The villa was tide the Tardis, small on the outside but big on the inside. Lovely position in town and very pleasant host.

Brilliant location, and just such quirky little villas! So much nicer than a cookie-cutter motel or apartment experience. Lots of little touches, and all the amenities you could need, while being a short walk to all the cafes and restaurants an walking paths...

Location is great, cabins are dated however they are very clean and comfortable. The manager Lee is wonderful, very professional, and so helpful and accommodating. WARNING, IF YOU STAY WHILST THE OWNER JUDITH SCHMIDT IS AROUND BE WARNED, WHEN SHE IS DRINKING, SHE IS VERBALLY ABUSIVE AND PHYSICALLY THREATENING! We were unlucky enough to encounter this women’s abuse and foul language, she was physically pushing patrons and terrorizing small children, using the "F" word very freely, her rampage lasting over 3 hours. An elderly couple were too scared to leave their cabin due to witnessing her ABUSE to the other patrons. After her terrible behavior in the evening, Judith Schmidt sulked away from the accommodation early the next morning and thankfully she did not return during the rest of our stay. Her behavior tarnished our stay, one does not expect to be exposed to such a vile person, language, and drunken behavior on a family vacation, especially being exposed to this from the owner of the establishment. To you Judith Schmidt “the owner of Bargara Gardens”, you need extensive training in customer service and business management. Shame on you and your very poor performance! At first sight the villas are really jazzed-up beach shacks, one street from the beaches and the Esplanade and directly opposite the Post Office. We, too, had Villa 2 but for three weeks and I have to say that we enjoyed the whole experience. Normally we go to hotels or apartments with a four-star rating but not having been to Bargara before we opted for this centrally-located property. Villa 2 had very clearly been modernised with a bright and large lounge room/dining room/kitchen all to-gether, a TV mounted on the wall and a modernised bathroom. I'm acutely aware of light and sound but in the main bedroom, with the air-conditioning on, had no problem at all in getting a lot of needed sleep. The verandah had four (unbroken) chairs and a table, perfect for our "Sundowners". The guest laundry was free to us on account of the length of our stay and at times we felt like we were on display to pedestrian traffic outside, but we enjoyed it. Parking is on the grass at the back of the property which, by the way, backs on to the Bargara Golf Course. Restaurants are between 20 and 100 metres away. It was for us a delightfully refreshing stay, made even better by the friendliness of all the staff, including the casual ones.
