Hotel Saheb Ettabaa

Being engaged to a tunisian girl i fly frequently to tunis from the UK. Location of the hotel is good, 15 minutes from airport, busy area but i dont think its an area to walk around at late night. Ive tried loads of the hotels ranging from 2 stars to 4 star hotels in tunis city, hamamet and sousa areas. This hotel is a small hidden gem. I was Greeted with a smile when i came around midnight, check in took a minute (unfortunately wasn't given the wifi password on the spot had to ask for it latter on) The wifi was very fast in the room, i had no issues with connectivity The owner offered me a complementary bottle of water which i appreciated cause if was thirsty and hungry, they offered to get me some food from a nearby fast food place, so i requested a sandwich which i paid 15 tunisian dinners for ( didnt likee the sandwich much but i appreciated there help 😅😅😅) The hotel itself is very very nice, not a generic build, had a tunisian look to it with paintings everywhere, they have like a small venue area down in reception The room was spacious and again nothing generic about it. The beds were steel frame beds so nothing fancy but the mattress was new and comfortable Everything was spot on clean flat tv on the wall and an A/C unit which was functional, all remotes were there in the room. The rooms were very calm, no noise and most important they WEREN'T PAPER THIN !!!! No kettle or tea/coffee in the room 2 towels in bathroom, small to medium size, no large ones Shampoo was available in packets, they supplied 2, Toiletries available, very clean modern toilet, no leaks Overall I loved this hotel, i paid 20 pounds for the night and i am 100% sure i will be coming again soon

I really don’t recommend it,you can’t even take a shower like Human being, the shower hoses and the internal lock doors are broken not clean as well.

Works well for a few days, but not perfect This hotel had the potential to be something much more than it is, but it was left on the momentum to a degree when things just don't look that well. Cleanliness was decent, but on the floor and in the bathroom. I wish they put the same effort on the bed. Sheets were not ironed, not too new, didn't even smell like new and clean enough (even though I believe they were). Also a lot of poor maintenance (and maybe even engineering) in the bathroom - the water pump gives high pressure for 5 seconds, then pressure drops to zero in the next 5 seconds, and then everything starts over. Not the best way to take a shower, but for a few days it's livable. The location of the hotel is not bad - there is a metro station less than 5 minutes away, you can easily catch a taxi on the boulevard in front, and the city center is about 15 minutes away - both by car or metro. Airport is 11 km away, which is also quite good. But being on the busy boulevard, the hotel is kind of noisy, except for a few hours at night. Rooms are not noise proof at all, so if you have neighbours that like the TV volume a little up, you will hear it as if they are in your room. If I have to say something good as well... they didn't say a thing about me checking in at 11am, even though officially check-in starts at 2pm. Staff was friendly too, but housekeeping is a bit unpredictable - both in the times they come, and in the service you will get. One day they took away the beautiful rug I had on the floor in the corridor.
