"Newly renovated, much better than before. Of course, it is incomparable with Shanghai. But it is a good overnight choice in the local area. Breakfast is OK. But the milk is added with sweeteners, it is best to provide the original healthier. The swimming pool is still being renovated so I didn't see it. The elevator is slow. The location is very convenient to the airport."

GGuest UserThe front desk called in advance because the room was in the ancient city, which was really big. They arranged a shuttle bus to pick us up at the parking lot. The front desk manager was really enthusiastic. I liked this lady very much. The hotel was also close to South Street.
Facilities: We booked two duplex rooms. The courtyard is antique and equipped with a Dyson hair dryer. Even the water is Evian. Xiaodu smart home
Service: We were given welcome fruit ”Ping Ping An An” 🍎 and bananas the next day. They cared about us being from the south and afraid of dryness, so they gave us a humidifier in the bedroom, helped us book tickets and booked a car for us in advance, and provided all kinds of warm services
Breakfast is freshly made, and the lettuce I've been craving for tastes great. For people who don't eat lettuce, it's really, really, really delicious. Everyone greets us warmly when they see us, and they're also going to arrange a car to take us to the high-speed rail station. Although we have to take a plane, it's really heartwarming 💕
It really feels like home. If I come next time, I will definitely stay here again. I also want to eat lettuce next time.

GGuest UserI was going to visit Pingyao Ancient City and wanted to find an affordable, clean and unique hotel. Finally, I booked Yushengde Hotel. I drove with my family. When I first arrived at the ancient city, I parked at the Beiguan parking lot. The boss rode a car to help pick up the luggage. It only took a few minutes to walk to the hotel. The hotel is very close to the North Gate, so it would be very convenient to eat outside the city.
The hotel is very new and opened in 2023. The boss said that the hotel was built during the epidemic and took three years to build. The boss is very nice and helped us upgrade the room for free. We stayed in the hotel for two nights. I like sleeping on the earthen kang. The bed is big and not too soft. It is very suitable for the elderly, children and people with bad waists.
The elders in the family got up very early and practiced Tai Chi in the yard. It was really comfortable. I often meet young ladies who come to the hotel for travel photography. They all think this yard is very beautiful. If you come to Pingyao Ancient City and don’t know where to stay, choose Yushengde Hotel!

GGuest UserI checked various rankings and chose Delian. I still like newer hotels, and I was not disappointed.
Pick-up station: The B&B can pick you up at the station, so you don’t need to look for it with your luggage. It feels really good. We booked a two-night stay and were offered a drop-off at the station. When the guy saw it was snowing, he kindly helped us carry our suitcases to the entrance of the high-speed railway station, so we didn't have to climb the stairs ourselves. Very heartwarming!
Room: The hotel has floor heating. The staff preheated the room in advance, and it felt warm as soon as you entered the room. There is air conditioning and an electric heater in the house, so it doesn't feel cold even when it snows. The yard and the room are very clean, which is the feeling I like. Although the room was not cheap, it was worth it.
Service: All questions were answered. The waiter and a short-haired lady were both very nice. The recommended restaurant is also very cost-effective.
I'm glad I chose Delian.

In order to take care of the elderly, they upgraded our room and arranged it in a courtyard. The boss's family is very nice, warm and thoughtful. The breakfast is a local specialty, good, and I eat very full every day. If I have the opportunity to go again, I will choose his house because it is worth recommending. By the way, I also took a travel photo of the young lady of the Shanxi merchant in his courtyard, which is super photogenic 😁.

This time, I, with my obsessive-compulsive disorder, brought my elderly, my mysophobic parents, and my picky children to Pingyao. Before departure, I carefully selected the hotel online and through live streams. Song Sheng Chang Inn is a truly wonderful place, with a unique five-story courtyard, clean and quiet. The staff were incredibly welcoming, offering shuttle service for check-in and check-out. They explained the itinerary attentively and gave us a special gift before leaving. The restaurant nearby also had delicious food and a discount. The travel photography we collaborated with was also excellent. Staying here was the perfect choice for me, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Pingyao.

YYordan VasilevI’ve been traveling in different countries and staying in different hotels across Europe and Asia for the past ~15 years. The Drama house hotel is among the few that made me want to sit down either at the lobby, or at the inner court, just to enjoy the atmosphere. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, assisting also with the pickup and drop off from the Pingyaogucheng station (not to be confused with the nearby station). Location is also superb. Definitely recommend the hotel as well as Pyngao.

— The hotel is too expensive.
— Not a smoke free hotel. There was even smoke inside the lobby and the second night it was all over our room too (airconditioning?).
— The first night we tried the dinner, but it was not good. They have photos of the food, but it doesn’t match with what you get. We ordered salmon sushi and got FROZEN sushi instead which was obviously not eatable.
— When we asked for a tea on the terrace we were charged 48 Yuan per person which is way too expensive.
— The bedroom is a bit too small and has the same size as the bathroom.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a good location, walking distance from the east gate of the city. It is a large hotel with spacious and clean rooms. Most importantly, the staff at the reception were very helpful. They gave us travel information, arranged a car to take us to the train station, and contacted a clothes rental shop for us. Even though there were many guests during our stay, the hotel still opened a buffet breakfast for our group. The only bad thing was that when I first entered the room, I saw a pile of hair in the toilet bowl. The housekeeper probably took it out of the bathroom grate and put it in the toilet bowl but didn't flush it. Also, when I was about to take a shower, there was no shower gel in the bottle. They should have checked before the guests checked in. I called the reception, but no one answered, so I called the housekeeping department.

XxxqtabaThe location is very good, right next to the county government office and in the core area of the ancient city. It is the kind of place where you can go back and take a nap when you are tired from shopping. The boss is very enthusiastic and provides pick-up and drop-off services. If you contact us in advance, he will wait for you in the parking lot. He will give you a tourist map of the ancient city and recommend reasonable tour routes. Several recommended restaurants have a 15% discount. The courtyard is very stylish. The store provides free clothes. Taking photos in the courtyard is super photogenic. When we arrived, we upgraded the room for free. The antique room with red curtains is highly recommended. The breakfast is delicious and the taste is relatively home-cooked. Children and elders like it very much. It is a very good experience.

JJeffery.truongThe ancient city Pingyao and the Yundingxuan hotel blowed our mind. The hotel provide free pickup from the train station. We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so
If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets.
The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam,
With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city.
I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.
