La verdad es que nos gusto el hotel, no tiene muchos lujos pero todo esta limpio y la comida es aceptable, no hay mucha variedad pero estaba bien, la verdad es que si fuese otra vez repetiria hotel, además esta muy cerca de la TABERNA DEL NOTA, un sitio imprescindible para ir, llevado por un Español llamado Luis y fundador de una ONG infantil.

Die Zimmer sind geräumig und mit TV und Klimaanlage sowie einem kleinen Kühlschrank ausgestattet. Dies erwartet man heute von einem Hotel. Auch rund um die Bungalows wurde sehr viel getan. Sehr viel Grün und Blumen erzeugen ein tolles Ambiente.

My partner and I stayed here from 17th - 24 January 2012. We stayed in one of the bungalows in the lovely well kept gardens. I wasn't expecting too much, as it is a poor country, but I was very surprised. The rooms were clean and well kept, the showers worked fine, not as good as at home, but much better than I had expected. Breakfast was great, with loads of juice, fruit, toast etc, not too mention the freshly cooked pancakes and omelettes, what a lovely setting too, with breakfast tables overlooking the stream. Very friendly hotel, not as big or busy at the Kombo Beach next door, but much more our style. We had an excellent stay at the Sunset Beach and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful place to chill out.

Heerlijk klein hotel. Super vriendelijk personeel. Mooi strand met gratis ligbedden en parasols. Leuk zwembad. Prachtige tuinen. Super leuke kamers met mooie tuin. Elk jaar weer mijn second home voor 4 weken.

Na zorgvuldig vooronderzoek koos ik voor het Sunset Beach Hotel in Kotu en onze verwachtingen kwamen meer dan uit. De kleinschaligheid maakte dat je ieder personeelslid kende: van de schoonmaakploeg tot de receptiestaf en security-personeel aan de poort. Van de tuinlui en pool-attendants tot de obers: iedereen was communicatief en deed er alles aan om het ons naar de zin te maken. En dat hadden we: lekker eten op een mooie plek met uitzicht op zee, een ruim appartement met terras, heel goede massages voor een prima prijs, prachtige stranden en dan ook nog zonnig warm weer in maart. Meestal houd ik niet erg van entertainment, maar hier was het van goede kwaliteit en niet lang of laat: 20.30-22.00 uur. Een paar tips. Kies het benedenappartement. Het complex is zo kleinschalig dat het juist leuk is af en toe mensen langs te zien komen. Zo hadden wij een leuk contact met de tuiniers, beneden zit je als het ware in de tuin! Het terras is groter dan boven en je hoeft in de hitte niet elke keer de trappen op als je iets wilt halen. De oprit van het hotel eindigt op de hoofdweg van het dorp (T-kruising). Als je naar links gaat loop je in 5 minuten naar het dorp waar je boodschappen kunt doen en/of in een klein veilig eettentje kunt eten en drinken. Er zijn ook nog twee resorts waar je kunt eten buiten je eigen hotel. Bij de T-kruising vind je de groep chauffeurs onder leiding van Hassan die je overal naar toe kunnen rijden. Zo kun je naar de “Senegambia *****” voor ca 200Dh retour. Ook zie je meteen rechts een groep Birdwatcher-gidsen die je een mooie wandeling kunnen bieden in het natuurgebied aan de overkant van de weg. Je ziet er de prachtigste vogels.

Es un hotel 3 estrellas pero vale más. Unos 20 minutos andando por la playa para llegar al centro touristico. El servicio es muy amable, el hotel tranquilo, la comida bien, todo muy limpio, y la playa está a lado. El paraiso por este precio. Volveremos cada año :)

We went 27 November for 14 days, our 4th visit to Gambia, staying at Sunset Beach every time. Have booked to go again in February. The hotel might not be the most luxurious. Furniture in the rooms are dated but the cleaners are in every day and bed linen changed every two days. We use the rooms only to sleep and shower in. Staff are fantastic, and remember us from previous visits. Breakfasts are good, and there is only a 50 yard stroll from the breakfast terrace to the beach, where we are well looked after by the beach attendant, Bacary. We normally go out every night to bars and restaurants in Senegambia by taxi, but have stayed occasionally to eat in the Sunset Beach restaurant. BBQ night is my favourite. Have learned to deal with the bumsters by now, and it gets easier every time we visit. Lunch is a bowl of fruit provided by Aisha, and juice from Omar Sharif, no hassles from other providers because we "belong" to them after using them once. This is heaven on earth for us.

Me and my husband have just arrived back from 9 days at sunset beach and had a lovely time! We had Bungalow c1 which was in a good location, rooms are clean and the maid did a good job everyday, fresh sheets & towels daily. The pool is clean and the hotel is right on the beach. The breakfast is brilliant, everything you could want and a beautiful view to go with it! You need to ask the pancake lady for boiled eggs we only realised this in the last few days, we also forgot our adapter but you can rent one for D100 from reception. The food in the hotel is lovely, a little more expensive than in other places but thats to be expected. I had a massage and pedicure at the spa which was really good. There is a taxi rank across from the hotel and a bird tour place, theres a guide called Lamin Camara, he is brill! You do get some hassel from people wanting to sell you trips/memory cards/bracelets but just say no and they will leave you alone. There is a creek just out front of the hotel on the beach but 9 out of ten times you can paddle accross to walk left towards some great beach bars. It was our first time in Gambia and not our last. We will be back very soon to Sunset beach!
