Popped in for a drink when passing mid week. Friendly and welcoming. Quick service, nice spot for a drink. Will definitely return when in the area again. The relaxed atmosphere and staff are chatty and helpful. Thanks again, and see you soon.

Such an amazing time!! The staff were lovely and very informative about the drinks selection. Very lovely pub which has a beautiful mix of student and local vibes, will definitely be returning. The most delicious beer garden in the area!!!

Upon arrival staff were friendly however the smell of sewerage in the lower corridor and office area was pungent. We had a room on the 3rd floor, it was spacious with proper beds rather than a pull out sofa for the 3rd which was a positive. However that’s where the positivity ended. Pillows were flat, bed bug feaces in the bed, I dread to think what was growing in the carpet. The edges of the door panels were thick with dust, the skirting boards were dirty and it was clear to see the version of a room turnover was to change bedding and wipe flat surface and be done. The shower was unusable, being 5ft 9 and my husband and son both being 6ft none of us were able to fit under the shower head. It later became apparent that this wasn’t an issue as the water pressure was poor and you either had an ice shower or have your self first degree burns. We ordered drinks at the bar to take to the room and the glasses were caked in residue. Drunken students might not notice these things but when you are open to families you should be offering clean crockery and glasses. My husband’s Coffee cup in the morning had lip stick stains on and the cutlery still had dried on food on it. Yet there is a 5 star hygiene rating? Final straw was when I finished my coffee to find something in the bottom of the cup. Looked like bread or biscuit crumbs. Something had been dropped in the cup either before or after being prepped and still brought to the table. Being gluten free and seeing what could be bread in my coffee is not something I expected. In fact it’s careless and dangerous.

Would definitely stay again Had a lovely stay, room was warm and cosy, nice welcome on arrival. Superb breakfast. Good price for stay. Would definitely book again

Went to the meani pub with friends great acholic and no acholic options do always a choice for everyone. The staff are lovely and show a great level of courtesy. The atmosphere is warmly and enjoyable and great menu. The only downfall would be that the spirits, drsft pint and other drinks can be a bit pricy compared to some of the other local pubs and other uni students and locals seem to feel the same.
