During my recent 3-night stay at Travelodge Sukhumvit 11, I had a mixed experience. While there were some positive aspects, a few elements left me somewhat underwhelmed.
The most noticeable downside was the dated bathroom, which felt in dire need of a refresh. The half-screen shower design didn’t work well for me, as water tended to spill onto the floor, making it more of a hassle than necessary. Additionally, the fact that everything came with an extra charge was slightly off-putting. Even items like slippers, which are often complimentary at other hotels, came at an additional cost. It felt as though any extra comfort came with a price tag, which detracted from the overall experience.
Another aspect that wasn’t quite up to standard was the overall atmosphere in the hallways. They felt muggy and a little too warm for comfort, especially in a city like Bangkok where you’d expect the indoor areas to provide some relief from the heat. It made walking back to the room less pleasant than I’d hoped.
On the upside, the room itself was in decent condition. The bed was comfortable, and it offered most of the basics that you’d expect. However, I found the location slightly off-track for my personal preference. Despite being centrally located in Sukhumvit, you have to step out onto the main roads to get taxis or access more convenient transport, which added to the hassle factor. For someone who prefers more seamless access to public transport, it wasn’t the most convenient spot.
That said, the highlight of my stay was the concierge and lobby service. The staff were very good, consistently helpful, and always ready to assist with local information or organising transport. Their professionalism added a layer of ease to my stay and made a noticeable difference when navigating the city.
In summary, Travelodge Sukhumvit 11 has some solid qualities, particularly in terms of service and room comfort. However, the dated bathroom, extra charges for basic amenities, and slightly inconvenient location might be something to consider if you're planning to stay.
