Lovely hotel Great location for exploring the local area Short walk to restaurants and pubs although the hotel grounds and lounge are perfect for relaxing I Comfy bed fluffy white towels and dressing gowns Most important were the helpful, friendly staff Will definitely return soon

Very nice hotel. Checkin was efficient and the room was very nice, plenty of space and a good bathroom. Newly refurbished bar and restaurant. Lovely location and grounds. Food was fine and they had the IPA I enjoy. Only thing I would improve would be the size of the TV in the room, although the TV worked just fine.

We can not recommend this family run hotel enough, it’s outstanding, gorgeous rooms, lovely food and most importantly the staff and owners are very kind and conscientious. We stay there several times a year whilst fishing we are always made so welcome, nothing is to much trouble. Thank you all.

We were told to visit this Hotel restaurant as new chef was supposed to be good. In truth very disappointed. It was a Thursday night so could be main chef on day off. I would suggest the following :- Food - 4 out of 10 - Caesar salad = no croûtons and just extra chicken and lettuce - Halibut over cooked = dry and covered in oil with lumpy potatoes Price = 4 out of 10 - London based prices in a Scottish setting - if good food no problem Service = 3 out of 10 - Waitress in gym outfit and bar/waiter had 3 words to say = engaging ! Location = 10 out of 10 - lovely setting and could be great restaurant. Pity as not many good restaurants in Banchory.

Stayed here in Mar 2025 and the room was huge! Mattress is extremely comfortable and it's so peaceful so a very restful stay. Had room service for dinner and the food is utterly delicious!! We were disappointed with the veggie breakfast, the month before, however it has drastically improved and was so much better. 5 stars for the whole stay/food. Would highly recommend this hotel & look forward to going back.

We went to the Tornacoille for my baby shower and used the beautiful bothy located in their garden. It was nothing short of perfect! The waitresses serving us were very attentive, always coming in to top up our tea and coffee etc. The afternoon tea itself was one of the best I've had, everything was fresh and well presented, the sausage rolls were one of the best I've ever tasted! The cake selection was also really good and all very tasty. Over all our experience was excellent and would highly recommend the afternoon tea for any occasion, the chef even cut my own baby shower cake up and put it in boxes for all my friends to take home during a busy Sunday afternoon, great service!

Stayed here for a business trip. Fantastic hotel, it is absolutely beautiful and the area is just gorgeous. I came in late and the staff were so welcoming and kind and let me get up to bed and settle up the next morning. I had the Eggs Benedict which was delicious and again all the staff were lovely. The only reason for the 4*on facilities is the room I was in was slightly dated but the new owners are in the middle of renovations. However the room was clean and the bed was super comfy. All in all great stay and would 10/10 recommend :)
