This place should be closed down. My wife and I booked a room last April (2024) for a family celebration in Banchory on 17th Aug. Got email confirming my booking for 24th Aug... then contacted them and they changed to 17th Ok .... Then got a phone call on 9th Aug to say that we had been double booked. This took me back as (as previously mentioned this was far a family celebration) the other members of my family who had booked in for that night had all booked after myself and my wife still had their bookings ... resultantly my wife and I had to book alternative accommodation at considerable additional cost. Anyway this turned out to be a blessing in disguise. When my son and his wife arrived at 5.00pm their room still had not be cleaned ready for use and, when it was "cleaned" there were no sheets on the bed and the pillow cases had no covers. Equally other friends who were booked in for the same night were shown across the road to the Douglas hotel where they found their room to be in a disgusting state with beds unmade and dirty carpets. They refused to accept the room instead booking in to a hotel in Westhills Aberdeen. My son and his wife went for a drink at approx 11.30 in the bar of the hotel to be told by the barman (playing the fruit machine) that the bar was closed even though the say then it is opened until midnight. This hotel is in a prime location in Banchory and should be the first place to look for somewhere to stay but, in my and my families experiences, it should be closed and totally renovated before offering accommodation to anyone travelling through/to Banchory. Final advice... book at your peril

Although rooms were a decent size, I did not appreciate the unexpected additional £35 fee for the dogs. I had phoned earlier in the week to check and they told me there would be no extra charge. Also, for the price I paid I would expect breakfast to be included. Service was poor - not the fault of the chap who was there, however you get the feeling that management are trying to save money by not employing sufficient staff. The place definitely needs considerable upgrading as the walls / ceilings are badly water damaged and the carped at the rear entrance absolutely stinks!

After a fabulous day at Banchory Show, we stopped in at Burnett Arms for a bite to eat. We ordered two fish and chips and on Scampi with chips. Our meal came and immediately the fish looked over cooked and dry which it was, and the chips dry and reheated. The scampi was fine but the chips again were obviously reheated so were left. Unfortunately we paid on order and had to leave before our plates were cleared. Never again! How difficult is it to cook such simple meals fresh! Absolutely awful!

We were there for only a couple of nights. Room was clean and fresh, with adequate hanging and drawer space for clothes and an excellent shower. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. We had dinner in the restaurant with friends one night, well cooked, though the choice was a bit limited, as also was the choice of my husband's taste of malt whiskies in the bar. Our only real complaint was that I found it a bit cold, though the unseasonably cold June weather didn't help. All in all, a nice stay and good value.

This was our Banchory experience after driving up for a meeting. Burnett Arms Hotel was fully booked but we were booked into the Douglas Arms hotel accross the road. We walked up and down the high street to see what was on offer for our dining experience. Some were down right ignorant especially mamma mia italian cafe. It was pizza or pizza at the time we arrived and it would be some time before pasta dishes come on. I also asked to use the toilet to be asked specifically if we were dining to which In said no - no one is telling me what to eat and when. I did not get to use the toilet the young girl looks like she will be turning away potential customers with her scary attitude we certainly will never be back there. As a result we carried on walking round until we arrived back at Burnett Arms Hotel and after using the toilet decided we would have dinner there. Pretty much right away we were furnished with menus and got to order our drinks. My wife ordered the kiddies portion of chicken gougons in breadcrumbs with chips and beans. I opted for the trditional steak pie served in a small cassorelle dish with chips and veg mixed through. 10/10 for presentation. To follow I chose a trio of icecream, vanilla and strawberry. We both enjoyed our food and would eat there again. When we were eating a young couple came to reception complaining about their room. They were told to contact booking dot com for a refund and were complaining bitterly that the room looked nothing like the pictures posted. We finished up and went back over to the Douglas Arms to our room.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. The room was spacious and clean, evening meal was delicious with quick service, plenty drinks to choose from too. My breakfast in the morning was definitely worth the £12, I would definitely stay here again if passing through. Staff were all very friendly and couldn’t do enough!

I recently had a 2 night stay at this hotel with my partner and young child. Staff could not have been more accommodating for our family and I appreciated how spacious the room was. We had dinner which was top class with quick service from a very friendly waiter. Slept great in the comfy bed and breakfast in the morning was a treat. I was very impressed and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks again to the lovely staff.
