It was too late to leave, so I checked into a hotel nearby and stayed. I arrived late and left early the next morning. I don’t know what the nearby scenery was like, but the hotel was nice. An unexpected surprise. The fish and chips were better than those eaten in London.

In the past I have been delighted by everything about my stay in the Wroxton House Hotel. But this time I was a lot less happy, and was really disappointed by the official reaction when I explained this. I travel regularly, North - South and back, and have always thought that I had found the perfect halfway house. I am going to have to look elsewhere now for my regular trips, I fear. Some things were the same; the little village was delightful, pretty thatched cottages lining the street. The hotel car park was spacious, and the building from outside was charming. The food in the hotel restaurant was, as always, very good. Excellent choice, beautifully presented, served by friendly yet professional staff, in pleasant surroundings. But unlike previous stays, this time my stay was spoiled by two features. Firstly, there were three problems with the plumbing in my bathroom: the washbasin drained away very slowly indeed, leaving the dirty water to hang around and leave soap scum; the lavatory flush was very temperamental, it sometimes needed four or five pushes to actually flush; and the cold tap on the bath was stuck shut and could not be opened, so you couldn't control the water temperature at all. When I reported this, the Duty Manager wrote it all down to get the maintenance team to deal with it. Just right. But why hadn't the housekeeping team already reported it? Secondly, the pillows in the room were just abominable, making for a very uncomfortable night. They were all old, and well past their sell-by date. One had some filling coming out, very visible because the pillowcase had not been put on properly. The others were so very old and used by countless heads that they were worn hard and above all flat, about an inch thick only, so very uncomfortable. You hope for a pillow that is soft, plump, airy, not flat and hard. I took all 4 pillows down to Reception and showed them to the Duty Manager. Her response was that the thickness of pillows is an individual choice. No, these pillows were not thin by choice, Sarah, they were thin because they were old and worn out, and should have been replaced long ago. The first time that I have not had a good night's stay in the Wroxton House. Pity.

Visited the restaurant for the first time. Staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. The food not only tasted good but looked wonderful. We sampled the Portobello mushrooms, Chilli Beef Salad and Pulled Pork and Crumble for pudding. All were delicious.Portions were very generous . The atmosphere is good and the restaurant very comfy.

Excellent afternoon tea served in the orangery - everything freshly made with quality ingredients and full of flavour. Great service and lovely atmosphere. The location in Wroxton village makes this a charming stop . I would recommend !!

The hotel hosted a Christening Party for 50 and this was a fantastic day. Tina and her team were brilliant making sure we had everything we needed. Staff were friendly ,helpful and smiley and feedback from everyone was positive. It was helpful having a safe enclosed garden which the children could play in and be totally supervised by their parents. The food was lovely and the room beautifully cleaned thanks to Jade and she is an asset to the team. Lily helped with the flower arrangements and was so helpful. Tina GM oversaw everything and delivered a brilliant experience with charm and efficiency. The waiting and bar staff were good and worked quickly to replenish food and drinks.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Our first night we had the Sunday roast which was delicious and plentiful, it was also nice to have such a nice veggie option too, which is hard to come by. The puddings were also lovely. Our room was spacious with everything you could need, the coffee and tea selection was good. Fans were available and an iron which was appreciated. Breakfast again was lovely, the continental very fresh and the breakfast made to order was very good. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, I would happily visit again, such a lovely area and hotel. Thanks 😀

We booked this hotel to visit Silverstone festival. I think as we came from the south a bit far and nicer places probable could have been found on the way. The hotel is a bit tired, and I think expensive for what we got. Carpet were frayed and stains on walls etc. the bathroom was in need of an update, the shower was over the bath and not really big enough to stand in so had to stand sideways! It was also quite tatty, grubby grout and loo roll holder fell off wall every time you used it. There was wedding our second night but the hotel had called us to warn us in advance, and when we checked in that put is at other end of hotel. We didn’t hear noise and we weren’t disturbed at all. Breakfast was ok, a bit pre prepared but quite good value. Staff are lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Kind of made up for bits that bothered us. I think had we paid less would have been quite happy for a couple of nights

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at the wroxton. We had booked for 10 people for an 80th birthday and was amazed by the fantastic array of sandwiches, pastries, cakes etc. The service was exceptional , the staff were very friendly, professional and organised. well worth the money. Thank you for making the day extra special.
