Blackwell House

We only stayed one night but we were really impressed with the warm welcome, great service and a fantastic full irish breakfast. Very stylish bathroom and furnishings. Would stay here again if we were visiting the area and would recommend this to others

My wife and I spent 2 days at Blackwell House for a quick break and had a fantastic time. We stayed in the Loft Suite which was very spacious, with a huge comfy bed, great bathroom and a hot tub on the terrace overlooking fields. Like the whole house, it was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. On the first night we had the 5 course dinner which was lovely - all the food was very fresh, tasty and well presented - Edele is an excellent cook. On the second night we had Swiss dishes suggested by Alessio, cheese fondue and raclette - this was a great experience, and we are now sourcing out our own raclette equipment! The breakfasts each morning were gorgeous as well. They use as much of their own home or locally grown ingredients as possible, and you can tell in how everything tastes. Edele and Alessio are impeccable hosts and really make you feel special. For anyone looking to have a couple of days away or use it as a place to explore Northern Ireland I would really recommend Blackwell House. We will certainly try and get back in the future, it's a real 5 star experience.

We spent a couple days again this year at Blackwell House and it was another throughly enjoyable time. The accommodations are wonderful and the diners a treat. The owners were beyond gracious and I would highly recommend it if you need a relaxing stay near the Dublin or Belfast areas Very much worth your time

We booked an overnight stay with 5 course dinner and the whole experience was wonderful. We were greeted on arrival by Edele ( who owns & runs the business along with her husband Alessio) and were given a quick history of the house and how they acquired it. We were then shown to our lovely ensuite bedroom with everything top notch with some lovely subtle touches and a most comfortable bed. We availed of the 5 course tasting dinner and each course was exceptional with Edele explaining the ingredients in each dish. It was a lovely relaxing evening in beautiful surroundings. What really stood out for us most was the warmth of the welcome and the huge pride and commitment that Adele and Alessio displayed in making Blackwell House a unique 5 star offering. We booked the afternoon tea event part of the Armagh Food & Cider Weekend @ Blackwell House for a special birthday celebration for our mum and it did not disappoint! Adele & Alissa & all the staff welcomed us individually & there the most wonderful afternoon began … we were treated to the most beautiful home made treats, with the promised apple twist, in the beautiful garden surroundings. Definitely a hidden gem in Armagh …. Treat yourself, Blackwell House & everything about it is 5 star!!!!!!
